TreatexHardwax Oil 1L Matt

Easy to use
We had new wood floors laid throughout our open plan kitchen & living area. The wood is hand finished in a smoky grey. Unfortunately it is not terribly stain proof....something we were not made aware of at the time. After ending up with a couple of small stains in the kitchen, I spoke to the supplier who recommended applying a coat of this to the kitchen floor. He said it would be easy enough for me to do without having to get anyone in.I cleaned the floor using Treatex Floor Spray and allowed it to dry, and then applied the oil using a brush I bought specifically for the purpose. It took me about 20 minutes to do the whole floor and then we left the oil overnight to dry.So far we have not had any further stains (it's been just over one month), but then again whenever I notice something splashed on the floor I immediately wipe it up. I have never had such a clean kitchen floor !

it's reasonably easy to apply but can be very sticky (use gloves ...
I bought this on recommendation from a friend to coat a floor i have recently sanded back. There is very little odor, it's reasonably easy to apply but can be very sticky (use gloves and an older brush). Make sure the boards are squeaky clean before hand and avoid getting the brush into the gaps between the boards (to avoid picking up grit with the brush).I managed two coats in a room roughly 12 metres square and i'm really happy with the look and feel. I'd buy this product again without hesitation, I now have a good looking, smooth floor that should stand the test of time! Treatex also sell a hardener that can be mixed into the wax/oil for areas where there is a high volume of traffic.

For a classy look to your wood
An excellent product that performs well. I used this product on several oak doors as recommended by the door manufacturer. This hardwax oil brought out the grain of the oak beautifully and makes the doors look, well, more 'classy'. Yes it's a tad fiddly to have to coat the doors, and the product took 24 hours to dry (each side) but they were treated indoors (less dust than outside), but the final result is definitely worth the wait. It has also made the doors more resilient against the day to day rigours of use and apparently reduces warping by sealing the doors against unwanted moisture absorption. Shopped around for best price and pleased with the Amazon seller's competitive price.

Trick of the Trade
This product was recommended to me by the supplier of my oak staircase. After years of finishing wood products with French polish, waxes and lacquers and the like this hard wax finish is a revelation. It is very easy to use and brings up the detail of the wood grain without the time consuming effort of all the other techniques available. It dries quickly and is nothing like anything else I have used. As always just follow the instructs for a perfect finish. I even used it on a very cheap redwood veneered door and made it look like something quite special. Highly recommended.

Worth buying - a good find
Good final surface - smooth and brought out grain well. Low odour which was not unpleasant. I found that it took longer to dry than expected evrn with thin coats. Will factor this in next time. Well worth buying.

Quite pricey but does the job
Delivered rapidly so I was happy. this stuff is fairly expensive (same price everyway, so no complaint about supplier) but is great for sealing oak doors
