Does this revive and clean an old rug?

I don't know. I use it because I have a dog allergic to house dust mites. It doesn't remove stains.

How does this product work, what is it exactly?

I have a son in law who gets an allergy response in my house and no one else’s. Possibly due to an old carpet. The powder is sprinkled on the carpet dry ang if I remember it is brushed in and then vacuumed. I wash sheets in Allergen wash and also use sprays in the carpets e.g. inspire. They do not mark the carpet.

Can this powder be used to treat a couch as well?
