Head and shoulders above the rest....and it isn't even close.
Reading a few other reviews just make me laugh. One says it doesn't even smell like pine tar!🤣🤣🤣 Another says it only lasted 14 days, and another said to find better soap because it stained the shower!🤣🤣🤣I can only come to the conclusion that the writers are employees of other want to be competitors, or that they are just truly clueless when it comes too high quality all natural soap.....The long and the short here is that it doeanr get any better then the Black Stuffs Pine Tar.....The scent (if its not pine tar, nothing is).... the pine notes, the Spearmint, the hint of orange and perhaps licorice.... it smells fantastic. The lather: it's unparalleled....the Black stuff pine tar erupts with lather and stays that way throughout the shower. There is no need to constantly rub the bar on your skin (of course the bar will dwindle faster if you constantly massage it on your skin, with hot water). If you use it like a sensible, rational human, the bar will last you well over 14 days, even over three weeks....And finally, the feel..... this bar leaves my skins smooth and moisturized. I live in the north east of the USA and it is freezing here for months on end. We are prone to dry skin in the winter..... That has all changed with The Black Stuff .... this bar breathes life into the driest of skin....and thats one of the best features.....It smells amazing. It has a rich thick lather that cleanses....And it moisturizes better than any soap on the market.Do your self a favor (you are doing yourself a huge disservice if you dont).... give this a try.... you won't look back. For the record, I was a huge supporter of some other well known brands.....huge.Then I woke up the realization that it's ok to find better....and I did.John Larkin (the man behind and in front of TBS) is a true master of his craft.....Now....Go...Buy...Use....And then, welcome to the family....the Black stuff family.

Great gift option!
I bought this soap for my husband as a stocking stuffer he was used to buying 3 in 1 soaps or unscented bar soaps. I wanted something that was natural and had great ingredients. I am pleased to say he enjoyed the scent and likes the soap overall. Planning on ordering him other scents to try.

A Truly Exceptional Natural Soap!
About 4 years ago I started using natural soap, namely Dr Squatch. Naturally, Pine Tar was a soap I used multiple times and will be a reference for my review and comparison. Both are black in color. What I found I didn't like about the Squatch soap is that it applies black on your skin until you've really worked up a lather, and also stains your shower to which it needs to be rinsed off the walls daily. The Black Stuff was an awesome change because it applies as a nice white lather that won't stain your shower. I should also note that the Black Stuff provides a smooth, nourishing lather while the Squatch has a feeling like its shedding layers of chalk onto my skin. The Black Stuff has a scent that feels like a natural musk, with a minty freshness to it. This is derived from the ingredients (essential oils), instead of added fragrance. Although nice, the Squatch Pine Tar has a closer resemblance to Pine Sol. As for the grit, the Black Stuff employs a fine and consistent grit for excellent exfoliation. Squatch's Pine Tar also has grit, but it is in the form of large uneven chunks. I love the feel of the Black Stuff as the bar feels dense and well made with no holes showing on its surface. While the Dr Squatch Pine Tar beats any liquid soap, it isn't a bar that I can truly look forward to using in the shower like Atlantic Pine Tar. The quality is simply that much better!Whether you've never used natural soap before, or just haven't tried The Black Stuff I highly encourage giving it a try. This a product that I feel is well deserving of my hard earned money!

Does not smell like pine tar.
It seems to last longer than Dr. Squach, but that might be because it smelt like black licorice to me, and I really didn't want to use it. It felt more course as well, not as rough as lava soap, but similar. My rating is more because this soap truly doesn't smell like any pine tar I've smelt. Other sents may be more spot on, but in this case. I don't recommend this scent.

Great soap
This is a great soap with a powerful and wonderful scent. It doesn’t break apart like other pine tar soaps and the soap feels like a scrub on your body. You can feel the sand and oatmeal without it scratching at your skin like other brands. Absolutely love this stuff and worth the premium price.

Garbage Soap
The oatmeal chunks don't do any exfoliating. Soap keeps breaking apart in my bath tub, it's down to 5 pieces now. The charcoal Soap keeps staining my bath tub. What a headache, seek better Soap elsewhere.
