Worked really well for 36" wooden Katana.
Only thing I didn't like about this is that it arrive with a big crease in it where it was folded for shipping. I was afraid that would ruin it and make it look bad if nothing else. Turned out not to be an issue. This is a must have if you have a wooden, plastic, etc. training blade without a sheath. Perfect for Cosplay too. Fits well, can be swapped right or left side of back, I think it could work fine worn at belt level too but I haven't actually tried that. Worth buying. I will probably buy another and see if it will allow me to carry both of my katanas on my back. Really pleased with this purchase.

Not for rough play, actual ninja fights, or wearing for a couple hours.
I recently dressed up as a ninja for a family night event at my church. I own a couple of Cold Steel bokken (plastic training swords), and decided they would make a great costume addition to wear around children of various ages. All I needed was a way to strap the swords to my back, Leonardo-style. One person commented that they managed to attach two of these together crossed, and I was in for two. They arrived in mint condition, with not one but two straps which can be removed easily by little plastic clips. They can also be removed by ripping the clip off the sheathe, which I did almost immediately by accident as I had a sheathe slung over my shoulder and I was trying to adjust the length of the strap. Oops. Good thing I only really needed one strap per sheath. The construction appears to be a roomy plastic casing, wrapped in a nylon-or-other-plastic-cloth, with the plastic clips attached to more of the cloth which appears to be sewn on. It looks more sturdy than it proved to be, although I think the weakness is just a matter of really thin cloth and the clips aren't attached to the plastic casing. My bokken fit perfectly, and although I didn't find a good method of attaching the sheaths together, I found that if I ran the straps through a belt loop in the back, I had a workable outfit that more or less survived a run through a makeshift obstacle course and some talking on stage. There was one part where I had to go through a space that would be too tight to get the swords through, and score one for those plastic clips on the strap. Unfortunately, I also managed to tear two more of the plastic clips almost completely off the scabbard. In the end, while not super sturdy against an average night of ninja-ing with an audience of small-to-medium children, these were mostly functional, they fit my plastic swords perfectly, and they looked nice. I've since reattached the clips with hot glue, but admittedly I don't yet know if this will hold as well or better than what it arrived with. Authentic ninjas and Deadpool stunt doubles should probably steer clear, as these will shred the first time you land a jump off a simple three story building. For those looking for a nice costume piece, I'd recommend this.

Sturdy, fits a 39" bokken with a 30" blade well
I ordered this item a week before Halloween to go with my black bokken. It arrived a day earlier than Amazon predicted (though I do live on the East Coast and Armory Replicas' website says they're based in Georgia), taking a total of five days including weekends to ship.It came in a long, skinny bag sealed at the top with no additional packaging, which actually wasn't a problem because the sheath itself is so sturdy. I was worried about the 3" excess that might result from putting a 30" blade into it, but the tip doesn't sag because a long, rigid, gently curved plastic "rib" runs down the folded side opposite the seam side and seems to run down all the way to the tip, preserving the sheath's shape even when the sheath is empty and making it pretty durable. Because the rigid plastic doesn't cover the whole sheath, though, there is some slack from the edge of the plastic to the seam on both "faces," which because of the gentle curve of my bokken allows some rotation of the bokken within the sheath. This isn't a major problem in terms of aesthetics because the bokken handle isn't curved, but I'm worried that repeated contact with the seam instead of the empty space above the point of the sheath will dull the point on the bokken. On a more positive note, maybe I wasn't looking closely enough before buying, but from the pic alone I didn't notice that there are two adjustable, removable straps, one on each "face" of the sheath, so you can mount this on your back from either the left or right side, with the "blade" side of your sword facing up or down. Alternatively, I would imagine keeping both straps on would allow you to carry the sheath like a (rather bulky) shoulder bag.Be warned, though, that if you use this as pictured, with the blade running diagonally across your back, you will not be able to draw your sword if it's as long as a katana. This is a fault not of the manufacturer or seller, but rather of the inherent design of this kind of mount. If your sword is shorter and/or you are really tall and have long arms, you might be able to pull your sword out farther, but otherwise, if you expect this to be a functional sheath, you might want to try a hip mount. All in all, not a bad buy.
