Great camera
Very user friendly, Camera is tough and works great. the customer service is the best I have ever received. I would recommend Moultrie to anyone.

Horrible performance
Very poor performance. The detection is garbage. Four days pointed at the road out front, moderate traffic from tractors and cars, no pictures were detected or uploaded. If you want to call 37 hours later, the test picture in the house popped in on the app. If thatโs โlagโ then it should be advertised.

Best one
Cellular only, no Sim cards to mess with it saves a lot of money as well. Because of the smart capture, you can obviate Part of the picture so if there is a leaf or a stick blowing in the breeze giving you pictures you donโt really need. This saves you the trip to go and clear brush and reset up the camera.

Poor Motion Detection
Setup: Set-up is simple with the QR code but you are required to enter billing information to get the camera going. This is a little annoying if you want to get them up and running but aren't ready to put them out in the field. Billing: I really do not like the $10 per camera billing model. While 1000 pictures is a lot, I would much rather have a shared picture limit between cameras or a cheaper plan. Triggering: Upon first setup, this took a ton of images of nothing. I tried all sensitivity settings without much change. Changing to the smart capture resulted in a significant reduction in false positives, but I wasn't sure how many false negatives there are. I put this just above a Tactacam Reveal X on the same tree and it turns out it this missed a lot of what the Tactacam caught. Picture Quality: Very good. I really like the HD request feature. Unlike other cameras where you have to retrieve the HD image in person, you get this over the air Overall, if the triggering/detection worked well, this would be a nice trailcam but the poor detection and lack of sensitivity control really hurt the utility of this trailcam.

Great product have purchased multiple times now.
This camera and all my Moultrie Edge cameras work great. I have 14 they all work great and are replacing the 20 plus spypoint cameras that all died.

Stellar connectivity and image quality, but problematic motion detection and expensive subscription.
Ok, let's get down to business right away. Setting up the cameras was fairly straightforward. The QR code made the initial setup easy and integrating them into my MoultrieMobile account was seamless. I did not need to choose a cellular carrier manually - the cameras automatically connected to the strongest available signal. However, I was puzzled that I had to enter billing information to get the cameras operational. The connectivity was impressive. Both cameras are consistently connected with excellent signal strength, the built-in external antenna seems to make a significant difference. The motion detection, photo quality, and species recognition were on par with what I expected from Moultrie. The cameras captured clear images, and the push alerts kept me informed about the wildlife activity. However, I noticed a few issues. Initially, the cameras took many false positive images. After tweaking the sensitivity settings and switching to smart capture mode, the false positives decreased, but didn't entirely disappear. And I still missed some shots that other cameras, like the SPYPOINT Flex-Plus (see my review for that camera too), managed to capture. The HD request feature is fantastic. Being able to retrieve high-definition images over the air without having to physically access the camera is a huge plus. The cameras require 8 AA batteries but can accommodate 16 for extended use. This feature is great for minimizing maintenance and invaluable if the cameras are set up in remote hard to reach areas, although the lack of a rechargeable battery option is a downside. My biggest grief is with the subscription model. Each camera requires a $10 per month plan to operate, which can add up quickly! I would have preferred it if they had a shared picture limit per account across multiple cameras or a more economical plan. Despite the cost, the value provided by the cameras' performance and features makes it somewhat justifiable, especially given how much I rely on them for monitoring my remote hunting cabin. In conclusion, while the Moultrie Edge Series cameras offer excellent connectivity and photo quality with useful features for wildlife and security monitoring, there are some drawbacks. The motion detection could be more reliable, and the subscription model is not the most budget friendly. Despite these issues, the cameras perform well enough that I plan to continue using them, though I hope for improvements in future firmware updates. My rating is 4 out of 5 stars.

Bad cameras
Extremely disappointed with these cameras. The initial set up was easy with a cell connection, and that's nice. The first 3months they worked fine, but then went downhill from there. One of the cameras started draining batteries at a rapid rate. Contacted tech support and they said an item within view was causing multiple misfires, so we removed the object, the problem subsided for a couple weeks, then resurfaced. Contacted tech support again and they said to change the batteries back to the Eveready Alkaline (we started with Alkaline, but after the onset of battery life issues, had changed to the lithium) The camera is now draining all batteries rapidly (within hours) and not taking pictures. The other camera we had placed in a different location started exhibiting the same behavior, (draining all batteries rapidly and not taking pictures) went through the same troubleshooting with tech support to no avail. We have gone through 100+ batteries in a month. Paid for the annual plan and there is no refund available for the remaining 7 months! Ultimately, Moultrie support is terrible. Their hold time on their support line is horrendous and they just kept telling me to change the batteries and restart the camera. DO NOT RECOMMEND!
