I started seeing some carpenter ants around the house and decided to mitigate them in multiple ways.First I located the indoor nest by waiting until dusk when they forage the most and followed their straight line across the wall until I saw them walking from behind the trim of my cupboard.As you can see in my photo, I simply placed a trap right in the way of their trail. You can see I also have another brand there but I'll review that later. Both attracted the ants equally but the Raid product was much easier and much less messy to use. I used double-sided tape to keep it in place.After not even a minute I found the ants walking right into the trap and coming out with some food for the colony. I don't kill any ants so there are more foragers to bring the poison home. Once the queen is dead the colony will die out.Carpenter ants almost always have their 'main' nest outdoors and just a satellite nest indoors. I looked around the yard very closely and found a long trail leading from a rotted pile of logs in my yard. They will travel 300 feet for food which is well within the range of my house. I placed some outdoor traps there and haven't seen any outdoors since.That being said, the first time I used these I placed them on the counter tops, under the fridge, on top of the fridge.. etc.. with OK success but not enough. Turns out one or two WELL PLACED traps in their line of sight (or scent) is all it takes!Also important to note is not to wait to rid the infestation. Carpenter ants are equally as damaging as termites. They may cause structural damage in as little as 3-4 months.

Had a serious infestation in my cupboard and bathroom. Within four days of setting these out, all ants are gone! Very happy with purchase. Suggest buying more than one package if you need to cover larger areas.

Ants seem to just ignore these baits completely. Total waste of money
