I absolutely love this food and fertilizer for my succulents. Not only does it last long because it's so concentrated and takes so little but I do not like using chemicals on any of my plants. This fertilizer is gentle enough to use every few weeks which I don't recommend using it that often for succulents and cactus but it is gentle enough. And everything in it is natural and organic. The only thing I would caution against is to be very careful and keep it put up away from animals and children , because it smells absolutely awful so if it gets knocked over or spilled you will be spending multiple cleaning sessions trying to remove concentrated poo smell

Best succulent fertilizer I’ve found. Easy to mix up. The smell is not pleasant at all, but for the beautiful cactis I get from it, I can hold my nose over the smell. It makes such a difference all year round. Even a puny cactus I bought on sale flourished with this fertilizer. Also gives me beautiful blooms on my Christmas cactis every year. Great buy! I keep it on hand always.

I’ve been using Espoma cactus fertilizer for a couple of years on pachycaul trees and caudiciform succulents that summer outdoors and come inside for winter dormancy (northeast US). Like most organic fertilizers, it does have a bit of a smell, but that’s normal and hasn’t been a big issue for me. The NPK ratio is 1-2-2, which is fairly balanced but still has enough nitrogen to push leafy growth. That’s why I use it on faster growers like Adeniums and Fockeas—they respond really well. I dilute it to about 2 teaspoons per gallon of water and use it with every watering from spring (when growth kicks in) until fall (when daytime highs start dropping below the upper 70s). So far, my plants have put on healthy, steady growth without looking stretched or weird. One caveat, though: because of the relatively higher nitrogen content, I wouldn’t recommend this for slow-growing succulents like cacti. Too much nitrogen can cause irregular or abnormal growth in those plants. For cacti and other slower growers, a fertilizer with something like a 2-7-7 ratio would be a much better fit. Overall, this has been a solid fertilizer for my faster-growing succulents and pachycaul trees. Just make sure you’re using it on the right types of plants.
