What the heck is all the hype about this overpriced, not very nice at all, watercolour journal about? For the past year I have painted every single day for hours and have improved my art. I do tons of research on YouTube and now have a fantastic collection of W&N, Daniel Smith and Rosa paints, Princeton brushes and everything else I need to improve. This journal is recommended again and again, so eventually, after trying many papers, I decided to try it. What a let down! I do not like it one bit. I have attached an image of what happened the other day. The paint did not even go anywhere near the paper, it just pooled around what is presumable, poor sizing. Urgh. The paper is not nice at all. It is so still and crisp. You will need two clips to keep it flat by the way, and as it is small, they will get in your way. I am totally baffled by the great reviews of this journal. I have ended up using it as something to test paint out on and nothing more. Not money well spent at all.

The paper is thick enough and able to flat after painting, but the after few layers of watercolor, there are bits kept being wiped off from the cotton. I’m new to watercolor, not sure if there is a way to avoid it.

I've ordered this previously with no issues, beautiful sketchbook - my favourite brand. When I ordered it this time I received a leopard print filo-fax!

This is a perfect journal for watercolorists. The paper is thick enough to paint on both sides. This works great for me to practice skills, use for art therapy and is just the right size for my needs. I will definitely be purchasing more!

I am an architecture student, and have therefore gone through a lot of different sketchbooks in the past. When my school art store started stocking these, I was curious and decided that I would try them out - and I will probably never get another type of sketchbook in this size and type. The ads say that the soft cover needs to be felt to be appreciated - they are absolutely right, the feel is professional in every sense. The binding is impeccable, the pages lie flat with just a light push, and the page color and weight is ideal. I used pencil exclusively on this sketchbook (I typically stick within the same medium until I move on to another sketchbook, sometimes pencil or pen) and it shows up great. Buy this, never look back.

Da es keinen Hard-Cover hat, ist es perfekt, wenn man unterwegs sketcht oder malt. Ich würde es nicht für grosse Wet-on-Wet Washes benutzten, dafür braucht man Hardcover und Ringbindung oder Fadenheftung. Heftbindung, wie das Strathmore Buch hat, ist eher mühsam und die Farbe fliesst überall rum. Das Papier benimmt sich auch komisch mit dünneren Washes.. als ob es eine Beschichtung hätte. Für Illustrationen, Tinte, Guache eignet es sich aber hervorragend.

Súper padre la libreta, justo como la necesitaba, las hojas bastante gruesas, una tapa aterciopelada es un cuaderno sin duda maravilloso, tamaño ideal, al principio pensaba que sería pequeño pero me equivoqué es mediano.

I was very surprised when I first opened the parcel. Good quality paper and cover, just so beautiful. Only maybe it could come wrapped in a plastic paper to protect the cover which is very soft and nice material. The pages look thick enough and parece the dimension. Very happy with my purchase
