Ok, So a little back story. I'm in my late 30's and grew up with divorced parents. My Dad wasn't always there but at Christmas, I would always remember on Christmas Day going to my stocking, and finding in a Green thatched basket, 9 Marzipan fruits. It was a tradition that followed as my brothers and I moved away and he had to ship it to us in another state. As the years went on it became harder for him to find in Chicago but he still made it work. When I moved back to the midwest as an adult, it was impossible to find in WI but he managed to find it at a place in Chicago. As my father gave to me, I also managed to continue the tradition with my (now) 12 year old. Every year if I couldn't find it, I gave my Marzipan that my father gave to me, to my daughter. My daughter now lives out of state but every year I send her Marzipan. Because it's so hard to find in WI it hasn't always met up to the same quality as what my father gave to me but my daughter is always so happy and excited to get it and remarks that this is the one thing she remembers every year.This year my brother who also has continued this tradition with his children has also relied upon our father to locate and get Marzipan for our kids. This year he went to visit Chicago and ended up bringing back some Marzipan. We appreciate this and it was flavorful but dry. I knew his 3 kids, my daughter and ourselves would want some moist, tasty Marzipan. I use Amazon a lot and have found the reviews (good or bad) to be very helpful in purchasing decision.Enter Bergen Marzipan: I didn't know much about this company. I read the reviews and took a risk because this was just the right amount for 4 kids, my brother and I and our partners (who also love it!!). It arrived rapidly, albeit slightly frozen due to the 4 degree weather on the day it arrived at our stoop. I eagerly opened it and noticed a heavy amount of saran wrap around it. I was a little worried from another reviewer till I took it off and the product was completely sealed with a top layer of plastic. I cut open a small corner (because I couldn't wait to *test* this out) and took out a lovely shaped strawberry. I was nervous because it was still firm from being cold and tasted it. Excellent almond flavoring..... I had to wait for them to warm.2 hours later I took another piece out and with my gal split a piece. It was moist as I expected and much more robust in flavor now that it wasn't frozen. My brother got home shortly after and he was tickled that I had purchased it and being a critical person he was apprehensive it would be better than what our dad gave to him 2 weeks earlier for our kids. He was surprised at how moist it was and bit right into a lemon shaped piece. He remarked at how soft and flavorful it was.Thanks Bergen for providing an alternative to years of mostly dried Marzipan. We're so happy and I'll be ordering more. Normally I only get it 1x a year but I'll need to get more. We divided the Marzipan into 6 separate packages and I brought the last one into work and everyone (mostly skeptics) loves the shapes and taste (I'm writing this right after they've tried it). Since my coworkers will gobble down the last 5 pieces, which are still moist after a week of being partially exposed to air, I'll need more for my brother and I.I hope this review helps nervous buyers. I've wanted to find a good supplier for 18 years since I've moved out on my own and had my own kids. As long as Bergen keeps doing what they're doing, we'll have a good thing going.Pro's: Moist, robust Almond Flavor, decent fruit shapes, packaging was actually a GOOD thing... kept it fresh.Con's: It's hard to find anything bad, maybe divide the product into 6 packages in one box like I did? Maybe more intricate fruit shapes? Gosh, I'm splitting hairs here..

These were a gift that I was fortunate enough to enjoy along with the recipient. I will be buying these again to give as a Christmas gift. The candies were fresh and soft. It is not easy to find a nice selection of marzipan so it was definitely worth the money.

Good tasting marzipan. Needs a bit more almond paste and a bit less powdered sugar. Tastes a little too much like the sugar.

I'm not a huge sweet eater. But I do love me some marzipan. These are fruit shaped and colored but they all taste the same. If you like marzipan, you'll love these. But beware, they're addictive!

Usually amazing but this time it was a little stale tasting but still better than all the rest
