Shakespeare E-Z Cast Baitcast Reel (10-Pound, Pink)

This reel works just as advertised! haven't had any problems with it bird nesting. You do have to cast smoothly or it will stop the line in the middle of the cast. It's great for teaching the right way to cast bait casting reels.

Real is great for the inland lake fishing I do. Very easy to use.Works great on a medium action rod.

Bought this for the EZ future. The reel itself is very nice buid but it won't cast far at all with the anti backlash feture on.

A little jewel...A joy to use. I don't know why they have replaced it with a supposed "improved" model.

Thought I could have have some fun with an inexpensive baitcaster. Trouble was, it would not cast more than 15 feet. Really, 15 feet! The spindle would not free spin even with the brake cap removed and the anti-backlash turned off. Loosening the body screws allowed the spindle to free spin - sort of. I think the plastic body has too much flex and can become distorted, thus binding the spindle. Of the 30+ reels i have purchased (spinners, baitcasters, spincasters), this is hands down the worst. Sadly, it will cost almost as much to warranty repair as it would to invest in something else, and judging from the other reviews a replacement may not be any better. Anyway, I would not recommend this reel to anyone.

Ordered on Sunday and was delivered on Wednesday. Bought this for my wife. She hasn't fished with it yet, but seems like a solid reel. And she really loves it. Going fishing this weekend and will have more to follow on the performnce.

The anti-backlash feature really works and can be switched off if you prefer. Price is very low. I'd call it rose colored rather than pink - and the blue version cost three times as much.

This reel was kind of difficult to cast and when it did cast it would only go about 3 or 4 feet out. Disappointed.
