An ambitious dream for humanity!
The media could not be loaded. The Power of Empathy was written to place the ability to "practice empathy" into the hands of the masses. This is so that more people feel equipped to support their own emotional awareness and wellbeing, leaving them more equipped to face challenges that evoke strong emotions.I have returned to The Power of Empathy and the Five Phases of Empathy that it teaches, to help me face business challenges and to grow as a husband and new dad. The Five Phases of Empathy is the process I followed to heal from loss. I then adapted that process to help groups and organizations to use empathy to get closer to one another and to face business challenges.I hope that when people recommend this book, they'll let their friends and loved ones know that whatever challenge or growth goal they face will be easier to overcome with The Power of Empathy. Empathy has the ability to change the world, but you can start by using emotional awareness to change your world!I'm grateful that I was inspired to write The Power of Empathy, and I can't wait for the stories that get written because this 30-day guided process was able to be manifested into this world. Enjoy!

Powerful Book that makes meaningful impact Day 1!
I’ve been struggling with disenchantment for a while lately, especially coming from the darkness of the pandemic and so many social issues. I admit that I’d become negative. I tried reading a lot of books that I didn’t find particularly helpful. This book, The Power of Empathy, is so powerful and truly fantastic because it describes so many ways I’ve need to become more aware of myself, especially my mental state. It gives so many examples and active ways to tune in physically and emotionally. It’s so effective at helping me turn inward so that I can reflect and connect with others in more meaningful ways. I’ve brought my spouse and young children into my practice and it’s given us a deep sense of peace and a vocabulary that helps us express ourselves in ways that we can all grasp. I love this book and I’m so grateful to the author for this gift. I’m on my second 30-day journey, and there are times when I go to my flagged exercises and work through a helpful framework that sets me on a more insightful and productive path. This book should be a core part of the school curriculum. It’s honestly excellent.

Transformative book on the importance of empathy
This book discusses the power of empathy from the perspective of neuroscience and psychology. It discusses the definition and types of empathy, as well as its importance for ourselves and others. However, it’s also a guidebook on developing empathy - again, for yourself as well as others. It is organized as a course in which you read one entry per day, and complete some practices. I really appreciate that it incorporates mindfulness practices - this is essential for cultivating and recognizing empathy, as well as employing it skillfully.

Denser than expected
I love the intersectional lens and general tone of this aesthetically pleasing book. It is fairly accessible in terms of verbiage and down to earth yet empowering feel, though it's more novel esque in depth and breadth. A bit tough for my burnt out noggin to try and get through. Thought provoking but not as activity based as I'm used to.The cover sleeve features eye catching purple, grey, and black with a subtle shine. The book underneath is a nice matte grey with the title embossed. Sans serif font is a nice mid size and legible, separated into two columns with a large break down the center of each page. Some graphics throughout and I like the page numbers at the center of the outer margins.Overall, the book is great for self work and empathetic understanding and I hope to delve deeper into it when the noggin allows.

Couldn’t be more powerful in my personal journey to rediscovery
This book is so very insightful, hit’s right home with answers I’m searching for in this area. The self-righteousness, chip on a shoulder I’ve carried with me gets smacked right off with the words written in this book. That’s my quick take, I’m impressed with the author and the journey he took me through to the end. If you’re on a similar brainwave as I am, this will do you some good.

You will get out of this book what you put into it. It requires intention
This is a review of The Power of Empathy: A Thirty-Day Path to Personal Growth and Social ChangeI suppose there will be some people who will dismiss this book as trendy or perhaps faddy. Consequently, they would derive little value in reading this book. To say the book will only work for people who already have empathy is the opposite of what this book has to offer. The point of this book is to help you understand and define what Empathy is then apply that to your life and share that with others. To gain this perspective you have to look inward before you can look outward. Some people may have a different starting point on this journey but eventually we will all come together.I like how this book is organized. Although you are encouraged early on to read the book and complete the daily exercise at your own pace, it is designed to be read over the course of 30 days. 20-30 minutes per day on average is the investment in time required. Each day ends with an exercise, and it is my belief that a journal should be your companion as you work through the exercises in the book. Writing in a journal is more intentional than simply working through the exercises in your head. Writing lets you think more deeply about what you feel or think you understand. The book takes you through 6 carefully structured phases. Beginning with the fundamental question of what exactly empathy is and how it differs from sympathy. The last phase is learning how to share what you've learned and in so doing being an integral part of a movement of empathy experts.I'm still working through this book but am confident I will be a much more empathetic person; I will develop more compassion towards others will hopefully play a supportive role in spreading the love.
