If you like Gundam+Story+Romance+more Gundam
Despite a quite unlikeable, whiny protagonist this is worth every cent you spend.BUT you should probably avoid this series if you are not ready for some pleasantly abusive drama because it has a much heavier theme than most Japanese sci-fi even today. So heavy almost every episode could make you rethink your life. It stands as the ultimate creation, in my opinion an upgrade from the original and beyond any sci-fi series present to this day. And trust me the quality of the story will make you overlook the 1980 graphics completely. If you like Gundam+Story+Romance+more Gundam, this is the series that will not only make you smile out of joy, but also shed tears out of crushing emotion. Old characters from the original Gundam are present and it feels satisfying as they gradually reunite and technological developments and political mind games between factions are very well spinned. There are LOTS of betrayals and questioning beliefs on love, loyalty, duty and family---and really all sorts of topics in life which is why every minute feels emotional. You will have to pay attention while watching because the pace is not just fast---it's flashing. And you probrably already are doing this but WATCH IT IN JAPANESE DUB! This is very emotional series and there is no other way to experience it fully

You will see the Tears of time
The second set of Zeta Gundam gets off to a rocky start with a series of filler episodes and monster of the week, but quickly picks up speed around episode 30. The set features some of the series highest points like the The Speech at Dakar, the creation of the huge Colony Laser, the destruction of Gryps Two and a dark finale. There are some bad point to the second half of this series. The series proably didn't need to be as long as it is, with some slow pacing and monster week. There's also some annoying side characters and the ending is annoyingly abrupt. However Zeta Gundam is still worth checking out. A fine example of 80's mecha anime, even if it is let down by some unfortunate pacing and annoying side characters.
