CybexAton G Swivel - Moon Black

My first 3 kids I had a normal infant seat for them. I so wish they had the swivel function like this does, but it wasn't a thing back then. This seat is constructed well, and with just the small added feature of the swivel, it creates a league of its own placing it well above just traditional infant seats. One of the hardest parts of using an infant seat is simply placing it correctly on the base. Being able to do this with the swivel lets you utilize the strength of both of your arms to lift the seat without the awkward shimmy of trying to get it in sideways and trying to hoist it just right on to the base. And if you are leaving the seat in the car to transfer baby to a stroller for instance, the swivel makes it infinitely easier to remove the baby from the seat and also placing them back in and easily being able to secure the straps without having to try to go digging for the straps on the far side of the car seat where you cant see well since its sideways.

We’ve been using this car seat for the last 2 weeks with our newborn. So far we really like it. The only thing I’ve noticed is a subtle clicking noise when we accelerate or break. The base is securely installed but the seat has a tiny bit of wiggle room once it’s attached to the base. Not a deal breaker, but a bit disappointing with a more expensive car seat.

We've had this car-seat for almost 2 months and have taken 3 longer drives (3 to 8 hours) and I've got to say that there aren't too many negatives. First off, the swivel feature is an absolute came changer. Our youngest is one year old and it makes it so easy to get her in and out of the car now. We previously used a standard Chico car-seat (which is good) but carrying the seat in and out of the house with the baby inside or trying to get her secured while it was already in the car becomes tiring. We haven't taken the Cybex out of the car once - it's just so much easier getting her secured in the car-seat while its swiveled towards the door. The seat is well padded and seems comfortable, as our daughter has taken some epic naps while riding in the care. The adjustable should strap height is also a nice feature - no taking the straps apart and feeding them into the higher slot when your kids gets bigger. I really like how there is almost no exposed metal on the buckle. Living in a hot climate those metal parts can become atomic but the plastic coating keeps everything manageable.Negatives - There aren't too many negatives overall, but just a few things that I noticed while using this seat. The first is the integrated sunshade. It works well but is substantially thinner than the Chico car-seat, and probably wouldn't offer any rain protection if outside. Not a huge issue as we've never taken it out of the car and really have no plans to. We have been caught in the rain many times with our other car-seat while it was being used in a stroller, so it's just something to keep in mind. Another minor issue was with one of the leveling guides on the side of the base. Out of the box the level in the left side was stuck and wouldn't move. I eventually got it moving again with some coaxing and the other side worked fine but it was just an extra step I had to take.This seat is a bit on the pricey side but it has a ton of features that definitely will make your life easier, so if it's within your budget I'd recommend it.

Wish I would have had this car seat with my older two. The swivel makes like so much easier. The car seat is lightweight but very well made and sturdy. It’s easy to install but I always get my car seats checked at the fire station for safety.

This seat is soft and easy to install. It’s very lightweight and feels sturdy and high quality. The swivel function is a game changer for getting baby out without taking the whole seat.
