We never needed this but I did set it off accidentally....sounded like an air horn.

It didn’t work well for me, probably ok for those who are familiar with the product
I m trying to be nice here but it never really worked. No sound., just a fancy can of compressed air. I was possibly user error. However, my children know how to use everything or at least figure out 99% of everything. User error, possible defects in product, not sure. It may be suited for folks who have more experience with such things.

Horn Scam
The absoletely the worst product I have bought on Amazon. I bought it as a gift and we opened it up to go on hike a few days after the return window and the horn did not even work. I sent a note to Amazon and they did not respond. Complete scam.

It does scare black bears.
It’s a great size and make a very load blast of sound. If you want it for bears they couldn’t care less.
