Ok, not my first choice in crystal kits.
The directions are unimpressive, and very confusing. Tried too hard to be culture/language neutral, and ended up being very difficult to followin any language. When two people look at the same directions and have a debate on what they're saying to do next, that's not a good sign. The spring terminals were nice to not require soldering the wiring together, but don't hold the parts together very well. The wiring itself is thin gauge and not only pulls out easily, but broke outright even when the spring terminals held their grip on the wires. It worked but was very frustrating since the slightest movement would either pull out the earphone, antenna or grounding wire, sometimes all three.Next time I'm upgrading to a real radio kit where the parts are better made and I can solder it together...

A complete waste of money
The spring connections are a fair idea, but are flimsy. If you don't make the connection the first time you WILL damage the cardboard media. The EARPHONE THAT CAME WITH MY KIT DID NOT WORK. I contacted the seller, but they were not all interested. As a first time kit for one of my grandchildren, this kit is worthless. We made a FAR BETTER RADIO with a coil wound around a plastic pipe union, a tuner capacitor from my parts box, and a pair of my old sensitive DYNAMIC headphones. We did have to solder a few connections, but, oh well.

My husband wanted this for Christmas. He was so excited about it because he had made one when he was a kid. Unfortunately it has not been able to get it to work. Maybe he needs to be younger to figure it out. He is 63.

Cool little kit
Bought this kit after trying the very poorly constructed Slinky kit. This kit WORKED!! My son was amazed he could build something that picked up radio stations without a battery. Instructions were OK and easy to follow. If you are looking at a kit get this one and forget the Slinky piece of garbage. This kit works!!

this isn't as I thought it would be, thought it would have an aligator clip to clicp onto anything metal, but this you have to wrap the wire around a water pipe, which in these times is not a easy thing to do sense most are all a plastic type material. I feel they need to remake this. I got this to put together with my granddaughter, but she lost interest in it
