Very well priced, five of the first six used are holding up well
I use these bearings for my land yacht wheels. We sail mostly on a sandy beach and through the autumn and winter the beach is always wet. Thus they take a pretty good hammering at each session, being in use for one to two hours and at speeds regularly well over 30mph.Needless to say any bearings rarely last a full season, and even the expensive stainless steel ones show wear after a few months. We usually have the choice of getting the best and most expensive quality available in the hope they survive longer, or going for the cheap option and accepting that they will need to be replaced regularly.I fitted six of these to my three wheels last week and they had a good test on the beach on Sunday. I was pleased to find that out of the first six, only one showed any signs of deterioration, which usually happens quickly if the seals aren't working well enough to keep the sand and salt water out. This was a good result as some bearings barely survive a single session on the beach. The price works out at £1.30 per bearing, under a quarter of what I pay for cheaper stainless steel versions and about a tenth the cost of the high quality versions, so on current form they look like a very decent buy.
