I have 4 cats presently and 2 of them are crazy about these flakes. They come running when I go in the refrigerator to get them out. I haven’t tried to see if the other two cats like them because the price has almost doubled since I first got them but they are very big and substantial flakes. They can also be used in human food too probably for soups or anything you might want a tuna taste for or any flavor of fish in a meal item. It’s really comes in a nice see through bag so you can see nothing but flakes.

A coworker mentioned that his cats go crazy for bonito flakes. I'm generally safe when it comes to introducing new things into my home and to my cat. An example would be, if I'm thinking about obtaining a new house plant I look up whether it is toxic to cats if they happen to eat it. All of my researching indicated that bonito flakes are safe to feed your cat in moderation.For Christmas 2023 I bought a bag of this extra large bonito flakes well as prepped on treats for my cat. She gets as excited about these as she does when I bring out cat treats.Only thing that is a con is that they are kind of hard to eat. The flakes are so light that when she brings her nose to the plate and is breathing in and out rapidly to locate the food, they blow around the plate. You can take a few measures towards mitigating that but it isn't a big enough con for me to eliminate them as a cat treat option.

I'm not sure what other people use these for but we use them as pet treats. We bought them for the cat - who is obsessed with them - but turns out the dogs are equally obsessed with them. We will continue to buy them as long as the price stays affordable (around $10 is perfect and we appreciate it!)
