Carhartt Men's Washed Duck Bartlett Jacket

I like Carhartt products but often have a problem with sizing. I'm 5'9"/190 lb. medium build; pretty average. I ordered the extra large and the fit was good but the length was noticeably short in the waist (4" or more) which also made the pockets ride high. So I order XL Long and it was way too large all the way around. Ended up getting a Large Long which did the trick. Have had this problem with their hoodies as well. Sometimes you think you got an item made for someone with a drinking problem (beer belly). As far as the jacket goes I like it a lot. Pockets could be deeper, but it will keep me warm and ride out the cold weather well. It should last a very long time. It's listed as a top seller.

I am totally pleased with this jacket. Although I am a (L) large size, I generally order jackets one size larger because I like having a bit of extra room. Having worn BDUs in the military for a number of years, I've grown accustomed to having clothing being a bit larger than needed. It's just a comfort thing. Anyway, other reviewers of this jacket suggested ordering one size smaller than what one would normally wear because these tend to run a bit large. Heeding this advice, I ordered the Large Tall version (I am 6"2" and about 175 lbs). I should have listened to my instinct and bought the XL Tall. The L Tall just did not give me quite the room that I prefer. No matter though. I sent it back and got the XL Tall. It's great. The quality of this jacket is pure Carhartt through and through. It's very well made and geared for heavy use. The sleeve length is perfect and I have plenty of room throughout. The pockets are deep and the snaps are tight and secure. The lining is very soft and comfortable, and the hood adjusts nicely. The only issue I have is that the zipper is a bit on the small side and a bit taxing to use until one gets the hang of it. I have used Carhartt products for years because their quality has always been above reproach. Although I prefer Carhartt products made in North America, this was made in India, which I find tolerable because it is so well made. All things considered, I am extremely happy with this jacket and can recommend it without reservation. God bless America and our troops!

My guy was absolutely stoked with this jacket I got him for his birthday. The fit was absolutely spot on and I’m so thankful for other reviews, which helped me decide on the perfect size for him. He has an athletic build in the chest with larger biceps, he’s 6’1, 225 pounds and I purchased him the large-tall. The chest fits perfectly. The arm length is perfect, and the overall length of the jacket is perfect for his height. I’m so glad I didn’t go with the regular because I think it would’ve been a little too short for the 6’1 height. The screen color is fantastic and he absolutely loved the color choice that I picked for him! He loves all the pockets and the rugged but more worn softer feel of the jacket material/texture. He has Carhartt overalls and the material of the overalls is much stiffer in comparison so we both really love the softness and slightly worn feel of the jacket. The inside is so soft and quite warm and perfect for winter here in Georgia. He can wear this out for a date night and for work! This jacket is going to last him many many many years and even as it ages, it will have more character! Similar to other reviews, we will state that the zipper needs some serious work by Carhartt. They really need to rethink this particular jacket zipper as it’s really hard to zipper up quickly. Despite the zipper being a con, the rest of the jacket is so fantastic that we are keeping us at five stars!

Here is the the short review I was looking for while shopping for this jacket. I am 6’2”, 205 lbs, and got the Large Tall, moss color (greenish), and it fits exactly as I hoped it would. Exactly. Not too roomy in the chest or belly. Plenty long in the sleeves. Covers the waist perfectly. All and all, a pretty badass jacket. Very warm. Rough but comfortable. Got it for hunting in Montana, and it should work well with layers. Love that it has both zip and snaps. Love that the back is a bit longer than the front. The sherpa lining and hood are very comfortable. Carhartt sucks for selling out some employees during covid, but they make a good jacket.

Great quality product. Worth the price. Keeps you warm from wind and rain. Don’t worry about wearing it on a farm, easily washable. It is bulky in the washer so just wash it alone.

Even in Tall, coat is shorter than I expected. I’m 6’3” tall and 210#. The coat barely goes past my waist. I don’t hate it, I’m just not used to a coat being that short and expected the tall to be a couple inches longer. Other than the length, the coat fits amazingly well and the sleeves are plenty long (which can be hard to find). Coat seems to be the usual, great Carhartt quality.

Bought this jacket for my boyfriend as a Christmas gift. He loves it and wears it almost daily to work in the cold. He loves that it is thick, and warm, without feeling bulky. It has a lot of pockets for all the things he needs at work (garage door installs). He said the hood is also useful, as his last Carhartt did not have a hood. I’ve machined washed it many times. It hasn’t shrunk for color faded. I do not, however, dry it in the dryer. I allow it to air dry and then put it in the dryer on fluff - no heat. He got a size XL - Tall. He’s 6’3” (long waisted & long armed build), 200lbs. Fits him perfectly. He says it’s very comfortable!!

I spent a lot of time trying to figure out what size to order and I ended up going with the large tall. It fits extremely well. I have plenty of length in the sleeves, and plenty of room to layer a hoodie underneath if I need to, however this thing has been keeping me warm in 20-30° weather so far. The quality of the jacket is extremely nice, it has thick fabric and a nice hood. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is because the zipper is not nearly as nice as one of my older carhartt jackets that I have. It is much smaller and does not feel as strong. Overall, I am loving the jacket after a few weeks of daily wear.

I'm 6'1 roughly 180lbs, and I needed a large "big and tall" which is really a" large tall" (this was on the label marked as LARGE TALL). a Large "big and tall" is really a large "tall". I ordered a large originally and it was too short, mainly on the torse and sleeves. I have sent it back and got the Large "big and tall" (again actually a large, tall). If you are similar height, I would suggest the Large Big and Tall (aka large, tall). If you are a heavy-set guy with similar height id start with a large, big and tall but might start looking at a XL depending on your weight/waist size. Layering up with a sweater is good with the sizing I got, plenty of room for layering if needed. Overall, a nice jacket, warm and nice fit. This jacket is more of a recreational use and not for work but I expect it to last with the Carhartt work clothing I have and how its held up thus far with the wear and tear from construction. hope this helps others placing orders.

This jacket is fantastic. Long time wearer of Carhartt and other work clothes for both work and play, and this item sits among my favourites. I measured my body, went one size up because I landed in between and received a jacket that fits perfectly. There is not much room for layering but a sweater will fit fine. I listened to the reviews and advice and went from there. A beautiful jacket that fits very well, looks good, and will last. Shipping was good and came a little earlier than expected. PS. Fits and looks like a hooded jean jacket which I quite like.

I'm 6' and around 215, I've ordered the large at first but I wasn't sure about the size.. It was a little tight for wearing a hoodie under it.. So I got the large long and its perfect!!! I love it! Super comfortable for working, it doesn't restric your movements at all and it seem rugged as Carhartt stands for!

I'm 6'1, 218 pounds mostly torso height wise, average build/broad shoulders. Reviews told me it runs small so I bought an XL tall. I could fit another person inside the jacket. The length on the XL was better but the Large tall I replaced it with fits great and still tons of room for layering. I do wish it was slightly longer but it comes to my waist and fits like a normal jacket. If you're tall definitely buy the tall size but the jacket fits like a normal jacket. It doesn't run small... At all. I'm using it as a winter jacket and it's keeping me extremely warm. Waiting to see how it does later in the winter months at -35. I'll try to remember to update when that happens! So far happy with my purchase.
