BARSKA Iron Boresighter Kit
Excellent product for the money and was a great purchase. This has accurately sighted in several rifles since purchase and works the best.

I sent this borescope kit back and asked for refund.
This kit arrived in record time. It looked ok, obviously it was made to be a cost effective alternative to the "original brand". Instead of a spreader mechanisim this kit uses a stiff brass spring that presses against your bore to hold the bracket tightly. it kinda works some of the calibers slip a bit, it could be worked around. truthfully I expected this much from a 40.00 kit.The reason i returned this is simply beacause the boresight grid was so far off i couldnt even attempt to fire a newly mounted scope with it. I moved it on to my 30-06 which, by the way, is damn near a tack driver its so dialed in. (I just fired it at the range 2 days before fitting the kit on it). This boresight kit showed so far off center it was like 8 MOA (windage) and 6 MOA (elevation)to adjust it to the center of the grid in the borescope? Another way to decribe it, is that the windage mark was almost off the chart on the left side.the kit also includes a .177 i presume for the new HMR loads but i just out of curiosity fit it on to my nitro pison air rifle (i understand that these perfom differntly than centerfires but i wanted to test the kit on something nearby.) the air rifle was already zeroed for 10 yards and when i fixed the borescope to it it was off by so much the scope couldnt even adjust that far? (Winchester 4x32 scope)oddly the grid seemed to be off in the same location as when it was on the springfield WAY up AND WAY WAY WAY to the left? i attached it to the .30 carbine which also has just been recently sighted in at the range (1 week ago) and it was way of up and to the left? i think that maybe the grid inside the reticle got printed in the wrong location? if it was off by just a few clicks i would just accept it for cheap and just metally adjust for the crazy grid but the one i recieved was so far off i couldnt even be compensated for.I really wanted this kit to be acceptble, i tried... it was not even close enought to take to the range!Lastly, I expect somone may comment that i didnt even take this kit to the range and i am saying its no good, i understand the importance of that argument, but i want to reiterate that the grid on this kit was SO FAR OFF it would not have been responsible to discharge a round after being sighted with this Barska Kit. Surley i would have hit my neighbors target...

Bore Sight was very useful.
I was a little concerned about purchasing this product after reading several reviews here. Mainly I was concerned that the bore sight wouldn't fit tightly in the barrel. Obviously this would cause an issue with getting an accurate measurement, and as I wanted to also use it as a reference after going to the range and sighting my scope in having the pin fit in the barrel the same way each time was important. I was also concerned that my rifle caliber wasn't listed, but was hopeful that with caliber count and wide range my caliber would be included. It wasn't. I have a .308 so the closest pin was the .30.The included case is very nice and will be handy to take to the range. I popped out the .30 pin and looked at it. It has a flat spot on one end and a piece of wire that acts as a spring to hold itself in the barrel snugly. After putting the bore sight scope on the pin with the flat end, and then tightening the thumb screw, I then inserted the spring end of the pin in the barrel. It was snug, but easy to rotate in the barrel.I was quickly able to adjust my new scope to dead "bore" center. It also allowed me to see that my scope wasn't tight enough in the rings! This would have cost me time and frustration at the range. I am very happy with this product as it has allowed me to answer several questions about my rifle configuration, and it should allow me to remove the scope and put it back on then use the bore sight to reposition it to the same point I zero in at the range. My only conclusion to those reviews that said the pin was lose in the barrel is they were using the right size pin, they put the pin in backwards, flat side in the barrel and spring side in bore sight scope, or the manufacturer has resolved a previously poor design.

i have a 5.56 .223 M15rifle and the .22 stud does not fit tight
i bought this Barska ironbore sight kit from Amazon. it is for an M15ar 5.56 .223. the .22 bore stud is so sloppy that the bore sight will not stand up straight!! the next size up is too large. BARSKA Iron Boresighter Kit If Barska or any body has a suggestion please send it!!!.this product should not be on the market! none of thestuds (15) are tight enough to hold the sight. they do not fit in rifles with flash suppressors (not mentioned) and are made in China. Very poor quality.

NOT TO IMPRESSED
Like everyone else says,it will get you on paper but that's about it.Not real impressed with it.Still had a lot of adjusting to do to get it on center.I got it to sight in a scope on an air pistol.Fit in the bore to loose so I had some shrink tube for electrical work and I put a piece about an inch long of it on the end with the spring.Worked fine.

Excellent
I am NOT a gunsmith but I consider this product excellent. It served the purpose of this tool. It made it easy for me to almost precisely mount my hunting rifle scope. Therefore saving time and catridges to sight the rifle. A must tool for hunters and silhouette shooters.

I bought this after using a friends on 3 of my rifles. It has never failed to get me on paper using a .22, .223 or .308. My 308 I sighted in yesterday and was 1 inch low and 6 inches left first 3 shot after using this Bore Sighter. Saved me a ton of time and ammo. You have to be careful to get it level when you start, a level bubble built onto would be a great improvement, but I put the gun in my vise and leveled it. It's not an exact science, but 1 up and 6 over is pretty great. I like that I can use it in my workshop and don't have to set up at the range.
