The module works well and looks good attached to the iMac. My only criticism is that it took me a while to work out that the connection to the gutter on the bottom of the screen my moving the (screw adjusted) lugs OUTWARDS and not inwards (to act as jaws). Once I got that sorted very pleased with the item.

It is so fiddly reaching round the screen to plug and un-plug USB's and SD cards, I thought I'd get one and am glad I did. It was no problem to fit as some reviewers have said it was, and not only doe's it work well it looks Good and is up off of the worktop whilst giving me extra USB points as well as SD & Micro SD Card readers. I would thoroughly recommend this Hub for anyone looking to add more USB Points to their iMac.

This item is ideal to bring the iMac USB ports forward. The clamping device is a bit fiddly - trying to find the gap under the bottom of the screen bezel. But with a bit of patience, I succeeded. The clamping mechanism works by moving outwards to tighten on the inside of the front and rear - it clamps by expanding rather than the expected closing.The hub fits very snug to the bottom of the screen and extends downwards only about 0.5 inches. The only lead is just the right length to plug into one of the rear USB and gives you a total of 6 available USB slots for your devices.As I have not tested all the ports as yet I cannot report on any issues.So far, so good.

Fishing around behind the mac just to put in the odd SD card well that's not good as I have spilt water in the past attempting to put one in so nothing beats having a front port which sits just under the screen. the best thing is that it's not too heavy or grippy on the USB sticks and card so it doesn't move the monitor when putting the cards in or out. The blue light on the front lets me know when I have powered down the iMac so it gets my vote.

This is basically a good product, let down slightly by poor engineering tolerances. The thumbscrew which is tightened to attach the hub to the iMac frame is badly aligned and tears the thread from the sliding attachment. I dismantled the whole unit and replaced the thumbscrew with a machine screw and nut which has proved entirely satisfactory.It probably is the very best way to improve USB accessibility on an iMac.

Really handy for getting to the usb and SD card reader ports as you need to be double jointed with extremely long fingers to find those on the iMac. Due to the shape of the iMac and location the reader isn't completely locked in place so be gentle when using it otherwise it comes off.

I purchase both versions of this (Four slot USB and Three slot USB with Card Reader). I have given just two stars because an otherwise excellent product is let down by the quality of the retaining screw. On neither item will the screw turn enough for the clamps to grip the ventilation slot of the iMac properly. As a consequence thehxbs fall off whenever they are touched. Apart from this disappointment the hubs are beautifully finished and would have gained five stars if this problem were not an issue. As both hubs have the same problem with the screw threads I can only assume that it is very common.

The first one I bought the screw did not thread correctly, so I posted my review, I then received a message from the seller (ALCEY) offering to send me a replacement, even though it was after the thirty day return period. This I received within TWO days and when I fitted it, which took all of a minute is was perfectly secure and functions, great.
