Subframe Mask, ARC

Fit is good. Mask is nice quality. I can’t say that I notice anything different about these lenses compared to my kids $20 mask to be honest.

I'm an advanced diver with 300+ dives. Now I dive year round in the Chesapeake. I've cycled through about six different brands of dive masks. This Atomic is head and shoulders above my others. This is the only one of my masks that never leaks or fogs. I scrubbed it with baking soda once (may not have been necessary) and use Sea Drops rather than germy spit or smelly dish soap. I only wish I had opted for a black or opaque skirt since any clear skirt will reflect light from different directions fooling the diver into thinking there is something moving on your right side but it is often only the reflection of something on the left caught inside the mask. I opted for a transparent skirt thinking I would be able to see my buddy's light in a low viz situation. Usually, I'm seeing a reflection, so it is actually disorienting. This is not an Atomic design or product flaw. I just recommend opaque skirts over transparent.

This mask fit great and looked good. I am sure it would have been a great mask if I didn’t take 500 psi mask scrub and cleaned it with a toothbrush. Apparently the arc coating can be ruined because the lens scratches very easily.So in other words, this product will not withstand normal diving wear and tear. Manufacturer told me, you can’t even wipe the lens with a cloth because it will damage the arc lense. What a disappointment.

This mask does fit my face well...except at the temples. To be fair, I'm a difficult face to fit because of that. The mask itself is beautiful and I love the ARC coating, everything seems so bright and clear. So far, I have only used it in the pool to check for leaking (only 8 ft deep) and it seems to do a good job of keeping water out without me having to crank down on the straps too much. If you have a regular shaped face/head, this mask should fit you very well. The silicone is super soft and provides a comfortable seal. This is a amazing mask.

I'm not sure how to explain this, but this mask seemed to improve my vision! Normally wear glasses and will wear contacts when snorkeling. However I forgot my contacts this trip and was thinking I'd be very nearsighted under water. Turns out I was wrong. Was able to see quite well. The only thing I can attribute this to is its ability to allow more visible light through the lens. Great mask, the fit was spot on, never had to crank on the strap to prevent leaks. Try one, I promise you'll like it.

I've bought eight masks raging in price from $69 to $189 on Amazon and this was the worst of them all. It had the worst vision. It had the worst fit. It was uncomfortable. And worst of all anytime I exhaled from my mouth water would come in the mask. I can't believe this Mask costs as much as it does. It's horrible horrible horrible!

I purchased this right before going to the Bonne Terre Mine in Missouri. My previous mask would unpredictably leak. I wore the new Atomic mask on four dives in two days. It was clear right away that it molds to the face much better than my previous mask. This mask did not leak one time during any of the four dives. I absolutely love this mask. Get one if you can. It's worth the extra dollars.

I'm not a diver, I just repair pool lights and plumbing, and this mask is the very last thing I have to think about. I have a big full beard and it still sticks to my face, plus when I have to work late I can see every little screw head and crack no matter where the light is coming from. In, out, get paid. Totally worth the investment many times over.
