WYZE Floodlight Camera v2, 2K HD Outdoor Security Camera with 2800 Lumens

We already have 2 Wyze robot vacuums (upstairs and downstairs) and have been extremely pleased with them. Our Blink floodlight camera over our driveway has had recurring issues. Specifically, the Dusk to Dawn first started failing sporadically then quit working altogether. And the Blink device does Dush to Dawn, when it works, based on your time zone not an actual light sensor. Do a web search and see how many people complain about the Blink Dusk to Dawn not working. It is a known issue, has been known for a LONG time, and is still not corrected. We think a security light being able to perform Dusk to Dawn lighting is a basic feature that should simply work. The Wyze floodlight camera was easy to install and easy to get working. The only issue I had was getting it to connect to my network. Once I typed in the network password instead of relying on the password saved by our Wyze vacuum cleaners, it connected immediately. The Wyze floodlight camera actually has a light sensor to detect when it is dark enough to turn on the light. The camera works well and has AI technology to weed out motion that it does not need to turn on lights or notify you about (wind blowing tree branches, etc.). We have added an SD card to ours for additional storage and do not have the subscription. We may add that later but are trying it at the free tier for now. We are going to see if we can get by without the additional features added with the subscription.

This is my 3rd Wyze product. I have a flood light over my garage and this one is near my front door. They both work well. Instructions on how to install are great. I also have a wyze lock on my front door. Love the app. Would buy another wyze product

I installed this camera above my garage entrance, and it has exceeded my expectations. The video quality is outstanding, both during the day and at night. The floodlights are bright, the motion detection works great, and the wide viewing angle covers my entire driveway. It gives me peace of mind knowing I can monitor everything from the app. Highly recommended!

UPDATED (old review after this): I had a shooting happen at my home and this stupid camera was offline so it did not capture any of it! I DO NOT recommend this camera AT ALL! It is my only WYZE device that is going offline EVERY DAY. I have having to reset it daily. I DID NOT have this issue when I first got it. All the troubleshooting I've done, looking at my router/wifi, I've done everything, both of WYZE Floodlight Camera v2s are going offline ALL THE TIME now. I am so upset that this did not record, it hurts me a lot not having that footage I need desperately. This is unacceptable. I have a wood construction home and the router is on the literal opposite wall of this camera, not even more than 5-10 feet of distance. It SHOULD NOT be going offline every few hours. Useless junk. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ I have a few Wyze products and have never had any issues with any of them except for this. This product is great, working with Wyze system, the adjustable lights have a variable brightness, there are many different detection settings, and everything works great.. when it is working. This is meant to replace an existing outdoor light, mine is controlled with a switch, I had purchased something to lock the light switch in place to ensure it doesn't get switched off. Well, I've had about 2 times in the past 2 months where this will randomly disconnect and stop working. The easiest way for me to reset it is to turn off the switch and turn it back on. This requires me to remove the switch protector. The only other option would be to go outside and climb up on a ladder to press the reset button. I think this is a reasonable complaint because most people will be doing this with this product. It is the only Wyze product I have that randomly disconnects. I should not have to reset it, because if I am away from home it defeats the whole purpose of it going offline, it needs to run 24/7. Other than that, it works great, the IR night vision is great, videos and detection are great. Just docked one star because it has randomly disconnected twice in the past 2 months. Updated: another 2 months later I decided to update this to 2 stars. The downtime is kind of getting out of hand. I made the mistake of purchasing ANOTHER one of these, and now they are both going offline ALL of the time, sometimes MULTIPLE times daily. Yes, the camera works fine, everything works fine, BUT, that's only when they're online and working, which is not a lot! I am constantly having to go to them and flip my light switch to reset them. This is fine and all except for I want these recording at night, and I'll go to sleep and wake up in the morning and it's offline, so it didn't record all night, OR when I'm away from home they go offline and there's no way for me to reset them without being home to flip the switch. I am just leaving 2 stars instead of 1 because OTHERWISE it is a great product, but when you have a camera that randomly turns off, it is not preferable for security, because the whole point of security is ANYTHING can happen at ANY TIME, and is more likely when you're 1. not home 2. asleep AND these constantly go offline when 1. I'm not home 2. I'm asleep.

It’s a good camera for the price. Very easy to install and setup, software is intuitive and connection is straightforward. The floodlights are super bright. I’m giving it 4 stars for two downsides. One is the camera has limited fixed tilting angle, it cannot be tilted to face fully to the right or left. Depending on your application it may or may not be an issue as it has a pretty wide viewing angle. Second is on “event recording” it would only record snapshots and won’t let you record video unless you pay for subscription. Workaround is to use a micro sd card to record full video locally. Playback is not very smooth at times. Other than that it’s a good camera for home use especially at the discounted price. For full price I’d probably go with a Eufy for a few bucks more with full 360 degree turning capability.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Update: camera and light still working over a year later. 2 very minor issues. First on very foggy nights we have to turn off the light/camera or the motion sensor continually turns on the light due to fog. Second, Camera stopped recording to our SD card and resetting and reformatting the via the Wyze app did not fix it. Couldn’t get our laptop top to reformat the card either. Manually deleted about a hundred files from the card and then the laptop was able to reformat the card. Reinserted the card and all is good. We have another motion light without a Wi-Fi camera that is over 100 ft from our house / Wi-Fi router. Going to see if I can get a Wi-Fi booster to use with another Wyze light camera, will do another update but not initial after 9/26. Was going to order a doorbell cam, but we live in a more rural area and any intruder would come via the driveway so we order this cam. Easy to install and use. Spent time reading other reviews especially those concerning ability to capture events. Was concerned by these reviews but purchased and tested before installed. Was happy enough after 2 days of testing inside garage to permanently instal as a driveway cam. After 2 months this of use we love it. It may not meet the expectations of techies, but for the others it exceeds expectations. Takes about an hour to go through and play with the various settings. Separately purchased a 128g card and it records about 2 weeks of video.

The WYZE Floodlight Camera v2 is an excellent security upgrade for any home. The video quality is sharp, even at night, and the bright floodlights provide great visibility. Motion detection is responsive, the app is easy to use, and installation was straightforward. It offers reliable performance and excellent value for the price, giving me extra peace of mind every day.

Love this I had purchased one and this is my second one. The quality of the picture is wonderful and it's very sensitive to movement and even the night vision is great..

Like this Wyze Floodlight. I have several Wyze cams but this is the first floodlight I have used. The floodlight can be set for motion or manual lighting and the brightness can be set to whatever you want. Nice wide angle on the camera and set up was very easy. If you install a as card you really don’t need the subscription plan.
