Stand up company.
Let me start by saying, the company, NuFlush, was great. If this review was just about the company, then I would be giving them 5 stars, I'd go 4.5 if that was possible. The reason for the less than 5 stars is the product solution itself fell short of fixing my problem. The problem is that American Standards design is seriously flawed, and they know it, which is why if you contact them, they will send you a new gasket for the flush valve for free. But even that doesn't fix the flaw, or stop the leak. It is just a horrible design that fails on many levels. First off, the valve itself sits 4 - 5 inches off the bottom of the tank, which means there is a lot of water that is never in play, not used for actual flushing and more importantly, less weight pushing down on the gasket. The orange tubes can add a little bit more water to your tank, but in the American Standard 4215A toilet, you can't really add very much more water, maybe an inch at most, more likely just a half inch. Which wasn't enough to add enough pressure onto the gasket to get it to stop leaking. When the orange insert was in, and the water level was a little higher, the toilet seemed to visibly flush with more water.I did not try using the gaskets that NuFlush shipped with the kit, I had already received an American Standard replacement gasket and that didn't help any so I didn't think trying the gaskets from NuFlush would be any different. So here is where NuFlush the company itself truly shines IMO. They called me up and offered to send me a new flush valve in addition to the kit.The new flush valve solved the problem, and unlike the replacement flush valves at the big box stores, or an OEM replacement, this new valve corrects all of the short comings of the American Standard design. It puts the valve opening at the bottom of the tank where it belongs, and because of the height of the overflow tube, I'm guessing it took my 1.2 gallon American Standard all the way up to close to 2 gallons per flush.Frankly, I think the tubes can help make your toilet flush better by adding some water to it, but the tubes probably aren't going to do much towards stopping the leak through the flush valve.
