Strong Durable Double Edge Saftey Razor - Polished Ebony

I've been a stalwart of Merkur for a while.Their prices are steep, but on balance the quality excellent.Out of curiosity I bought this amazing look alike Merkur Futor made of solid brass.Merkur created the original in 1983, so can't help but wonder if their patent expired)?OK, It's the best part of £30, but still far, far cheaper, (bless those Chinese with the box description of "saving razor"...It has the same balance and performance though and precisely the same assembly and parts, just make sure you load it with a decent blade, (Feather or the same ilk).In summary, snide, but very good value and to all intents and purposes comparable to the gold plated Merkur Futor.Happy to recommend if legal.

This is a poor quality copy of a merkur futur safety razor. It was not correctly assembled and was unsafe to use even when correctly assembled due to movement in the blade and an uneven gap. There are many cosmetic faults and rough patches. Do not waste your money on this product.

With mine the numbers did not align properly with the arrow but was easily sorted, screw the handle off and turn the bottom section of the head around then replace handle and that is it. It works great with the advantage of adjust-ability and should last a lifetime if not longer, I got the brass one, it is heavy and solid, also the very top section just pulls off and pushes back on with gentle pressure for a quick blade changeover or to clean, use good blades that suite your type of hair, if you are not sure buy a multi pack of different blades online and try them all but with the advantage of this razor being adjustable most good blades should work for your needs. All in all this is probably the only razor you will ever need.
