Had this little mobile hammer about a year or more. I love it. First, the footprint is tiny, so it’s super easy to mount just about anywhere and it doesn’t look like you’ve got a ham nerd city pile in your car. The trade off; it’s only 25w, BUT, it produces and uses every bit of that wattage, it doesn’t hold back. The audio is crisp, the mic produces a good tx, and it’s easy to program. The menu is pretty much identical to the gd88 which I also own. The cps isn’t the best, but you can use third party user made cps and have a far easier time. The cps isn’t bad, so to speak, just not quite as user friendly as others that are out there. I actually use an 8 pin rj45 bulkhead extension and mounted the radio to my dash, and have the mic stashed in my console, works like a charm and it’s way less clutter. Again, because of the size, it’s an absolute breeze to install. Depending on your vehicle, take a look at bullet point mounting solutions. I put a grid in my f150 above the stereo receiver, chefs kiss mounting spot for the db25d. This gets a solid thumbs up from me. Absolutely recommend if you don’t want a nasa Apollo mission dashboard with half a server deck under your seat. Yes you sacrifice a little power, but the trade off is not looking like a goober.

Very nice radio. Well built and easy to program. Menus are easy to navigate. Tx quality is clean and the tiny speaker works remarkably well for its size. My only complaint is that it is limited to low power on analog. However, this is a non issue if you are using it primarily for DMR. The rig itself is very small. About at wide as an iphone is long. It’s so compact in fact that I was able to mount it on a flexible seatbolt mount like the head units from larger radios. I’d buy it again. 5 stars if it didn’t limit analog power.

This is great for tight fits and the rig can fit in your pocket! works as stated. Power output is as claimed. though the power drops the higher up the Amateur bands. I would give this radio a solid 8 It's not a power house, but this rig gets the job done. 73's de Tony.

I've had this radio for 6 months now and have to say, I'm really happy. So far I've used it as a base station, mobile in a vehicle, and carried it as a manpack. In every case it's shown itself to be a versatile performer that provides more options and versatility than anything else I've come across in anywhere near a similar price range. General thoughts: The radio falls into a decent spot. There are one or two little quirks you need to get used to, but those mostly reside in the programming software and what CPS doesn't have issues? The hand mic it comes with has just enough buttons and options to give you the ability to work the radio mostly from it. The controls all have a good, solid feel and have a good sizing and spacing. As a base station: I ran this sitting on my work desk next to two different computers, a few monitors, and a bunch of wireless accessories. While I was begging for interference hell, everything actually worked quite nicely. No interference to speak of in either direction, which surprised me (keying up my 25 watt base station in the same location overloads a USB dock). The only downside I ran into was the GPS antenna didn't get a good enough view of the sky to reliably get a signal lock. As a mobile: This feels like what the radio was designed for. The main unit is small enough to fit almost anywhere in your car, which is great. If you're going to want APRS data, I'd suggest putting it somewhere on your dash, simply so the GPS antenna can get a signal lock. With the unit being as small as it is, this really isn't a problem to do. You could hide it further inside the car and relocate the GPS antenna to a different location, but I never really tried that. While the main speaker doesn't get incredibly loud, the fact that the hand mic has a speaker built into it helps with being able to listen even at high speeds. As a manpack: It's pretty surprising what the radio can do on this front. This radio is surprisingly small, which allows for some great possibilities. In a 9"x6" admin pouch I was able to house this radio & hand mic, a 5Ah battery, 1/4 antenna, throw line, and a roll up j-pole... basically a VHF/UHF kit that fits on my belt or day pack and can be used both as a HT replacement and as a base station.

Disclaimer: bought this Used - Like new. Unit came as expected but was missing the power cable, and I have yet to use the radio for obvious reasons. - Update after trying to check in to a net: the mic wiring was incorrect, which is why it doesn't transmit. The Radiooddity team was helpful and gave a partial refund as I was unable to return the unit.

Radioddity DB25d I was pleasantly surprised at how small this radio is. It was actually smaller than my HT (Anytone UV878 in the first two pictures to show the size comparison.) The third picture is everything that came in the boxes. I hooked it up to learn how to program it and played with the radio about an hour, walking through the functions and features and menu. While I was scrolling around, every once in awhile, I would hear what sounds like a kitten spitting/hissing coming from the speaker. It was a digital type noise, but you would think it was like dust on a volume control in the old days. I did some digging and found a couple of YouTube reviewers complaining about the same noise. I really was hoping it would work out because I already bought several accessories to mount and use it in the car. I'm returning the radio because this is something I have never encountered in any kind of radio before. If the noise is splattering into the speaker, what is it doing on the air? I don't trust it. Other people are happy with theirs, but I don't happen to be, so back it goes.

Nice little radio. Using it primarily for GMRS on local repeaters and it works very well. The size makes installation very easy. I'll add HAM repeater frequently later when I get my ticket. The Radioddity programming software is very glitch, so I used CodePlug Editor and that made things much easier. Otherwise, great radio.

If you are used to DMR this is an excellent radio. DMR set-up is somewhat confusing for DMR beginners (for all DMR radios) but watch as many you tube videos as you can on DMR and DMR codeplugs and you will get there. The only thing I would change about this radio is the location of the main knob--if you use your right hand on the controls, your hand covers the screen. This is especially a problem when adjusting volume or squelch. Otherwise, functionally this is an excellent radio and the size makes it very versatile.
