This works for its intended purpose of separating water from fat.On the positive side, this can be set on a flat surface while waiting for layers to separate.My negative: I was disappointed in the cross sectional area at the bottom; I thought separators had a more funnel shaped bottom so you could do a better job separating the two layers. However, I didn't see any other options that seemed to address this issue.

It works even better if ya put the warm ,hot juice in the fridge for a few minutes, then drain out fat free juice ie Gravy..🆗

The media could not be loaded. So I ordered this from Amazon and tried it out canning Bone broth.It worked perfectly for what I needed.I want to keep all the nutrients in my broth but not have all the fat in each jar .So I let the broth cool down some and poured it in the separator .It fit perfectly on the jar and thumb “trigger” was so easy to use.It empties from the bottom directly into the jar and the clear sides lets you see exactly when to stop filling so you don’t get any fat.It holds 4 cups, which is perfect for a quart jar.It made filling the jars so easy and I didn’t even need a funnel.I love using items that make my time in the kitchen more efficient! So if you do also, then go ahead and order it.Its so worth it Also cleanup is just hot soapy water and that’s it.Easy peasy!
