Much better than the Peli torch
I've been using this for about a month now and am very impressed with it. It is bright enough to make notes in the dark and I have turned it on when in the pitch black so it illuminates my path. The fact it is usb rechargeable is a massive bonus so no annoying batteries to buy or fiddly screws to lose.I was job issued the Peli light and was going to buy another one as I was tired of swapping the lights over when I switched from black to hi viz jackets. However I am so glad I discovered this one instead. It is much brighter than the Peli (9 lumens compared to 150, I didn't realise the Peli was so low either!) and being rechargeable is better. I used to change the battery on my Peli and still be annoyed it is so dim.It has 2 led bulbs with a couple of modes so one click - one bulb, 2 clicks - both bulbs, on top is a smaller button which gives it a 'light boost' and press and hold and it is on flashing mode. The light head flips up like the Peli but you have to press the button to turn it on so different from the Peli there. It is a bit bigger and a lot less cheap plasticity than the Peli. Where the Peli looks like a cheap toy with its shiny plastic case, this is more solid and well built. So it comes in 2 parts, together it has the swivel clip which I've put on my vest using an elastic band to secure it from moving around/being ripped off (I did the same with the Peli, I've lost a couple otherwise). With this base clip secured, I can still slide the light up and remove it from its base to use where needed. When removed like this, it still has a shirt clip To attach so I could use it without the base.I prefer using it all together as that way I can secure the base to my uniform and still easily remove the light to use a backup hand torch which couldn't have been done with the PeliThis light unit also has a magnetic back which I haven't used within work yet but I've tested it on metal surfaces and it sticks.Although this torch is 100x more superior than the Peli torch, brighter, more functionality, more practical and rechargeable which is its biggest asset. I bought this for approx £27 which is about £5/6 more than the Peli light but it is definitely worth it as I would probably spend that much on batteries alone (well OK the job would!).Peli lights used to be job issued until about 1-2 years ago but they have stopped now, get this instead!!

Great bit of kit
Saw this on a gear review of kit carried in an EDC pouch & went to do some searching for further reviews on the range. The "X" is the higher end model & I bought this as it has both white & red light, which is particularly handy for night use & retaining night vision of course. The in-box instructions are slightly lacking but that's my only gripe... A couple of YouTube searches later, I was more than up to speed. The "normal" mode is low intensity light whether on red or white, though by using the button on top of the device, that greatly increases the white light intensity, enough for finding your way at night - Obviously this will affect the battery duration but that's fine as I have other torches for that function. I got this for hands-free, low light use.The signalling mode is also handy since it's a highly noticeable strobe that covers both red & white LED's & will undoubtedly draw attention.I found the "wand" attachment a very handy item as well, since this allows a greater area to be influenced by the same low-intensity light source - a little like taking a Cyalume light stick & placing it inside a 2 litre water bottle - greater illumination for the same energy cost.... Talking of energy, the recharge time from box to fully charged was 90 minutes & the company page claim 2-2.5 hours to fully recharge from flat, which I can believe. In short, this is well made, well thought-out & from the short time I've had it, has proven to be a useful piece of equipment to have - I wish I'd thought of it myself :)

Excellent if you need hands-free light.
I do a lot of night patrol work and trying to write in the dark or write with one hand holding a torch is very annoying/difficult.I did a lot of research to find out which light would be best (this, the Peli light, a cheap clip on torch etc) and decided on this one as the best option for a few reasons:1 Most importantly, it is rechargeable. This is vital as I don't need to buy/change the batteries.2 Clips on and stays clipped on. Swivels while clipped on for ease of use.3 bright white/red light (although there are other colour options).4 Not too expensive. Maybe more expensive than the cheap clip on torch but cost to quality ratio is pretty great. When wearing this light, it is quite discrete and I often forget I'm wearing it until I need to use it. It has several modes activated by pushing or holding the button on the top. Push it once for white light, twice in quick succession for a brighter white light, three times in quick succession for a red light. A fourth push or if you leave a few seconds between pushing, will turn the light off. Hold the button down for a few seconds and the light will flash red and white (like the lights on an emergency vehicle). It also comes with a kind of clear plastic attachment which clips on to the light. This diffuses the light and is useful for getting peoples attention. The charging cable is nice and short and it doesn't take long to charge and lasts a long time. The ten minute timer also prevents it accidentally being left on all day and killing the battery.
