I bought the citronella collar for my very obedient rescue who I just could not stop barking when we left the house. We live in a condo, so barking like that is NOT an option. The citronella collar worked PERFECTLY but my dog is SO submissive and obedient that I did not think he needed to have that harsh citronella sprayed up his nose every time he barked when all he REALLY needed at that point was a bit of a "reminder" that barking was NOT a good choice. So after he was thoroughly convinced that when he had the collar on, he could NOT bark, I reduced the "mix" balance between the citronella and the canned air so that there was just a "reminder hint" of citronella but if he did bark, the collar would still spray. It works and I am SO happy. He still needs the collar to remind him, but the unscented diluting that strong citronella is all he needs. I like having that control instead of being stuck spritzing him full up the nose with something he hates.

I actually love the smell. I didn't mind when the dogs would bark so I could get a little spritz of the fragrance. Worked great until the collars ended up not working. I recommend trying this.

Purchased these for my citronella bark collar. They worked well to refill the collar and I was able to have a couple refills out of a can.

I wrote a full review of a spray collar which really worked great for my dog (see the picture). This is the spray we used. The spray is effectively some kind of butane propellant and a tiny bit of citronella oil. This is a perfect mix because it deters the dog but doesn't smell hardly at all. I was afraid that it might leave an oily residue on the dog's fur, but nothing like that happened. The dog only barked three times with the collar on and he has never barked with it on since, total win. Here is how we have been using the collar: We take him for walks and encourage him to bark when appropriate. We never use the collar when we are home. We don't leave him more than four hours. I bet we don't even need to turn on the collar anymore because he and the collar have an "agreement".

It does have a hint of citronella but that's ok. It works, and that's what matters. If my little dog gets used to it, I will get the citronella scent spray. When filling the device, I press down for 12secs to be safe as to not over fill. (Directions say 10-15 secs) The concerns about skin irritation was had at first but I am seeing nothing as it doesn't completely spray right on her but at her. She will sniff the ground but it's spirits distracts her from the stimulus event. Barking stops and she looks to me to lead now. Lol Great value for money. I recommend ppl to try it and see for themselves. I am happy thus far with the product. 👍 Thank you👍💞🐕

This worked in one week for my hound. I liked that it didn’t smell. The can lasted about a month. We used it on our hound and outer smaller dog it was only successful with the hound.
