This book has really wonderful recipes & valuable entertaining tips - that I expected & I would have bought it for that alone. And would be extremely pleased and satisfied with my purchase. But the stories & photos of the author and his family, home, gardens and tables beautifully-set and awaiting guests are what make this book stand out above the rest. Warm, inviting, glowing with love, camaraderie and great food. A book to read, enjoy, & emulate.

I cooked for a friend's (professional chef) party using a recipe from this book and the reviews from guests attending were so outstanding I bought a copy of the book for myself. I have gone on to ordr beans from Sando's site and find them to be superior. The only problem is that he runs out of some varieties so order early.

Great book. Steve Sando is not merely the Bean KIng, he is also a very good writer. The book is interesting, funny, and makes you want to cook up a pot of his excellent, fresh beans. While you're at it, search Amazon for his other books which are just as good.

I was a little disappointed with this as a cookbook. It takes one supper recipe and then offers several versions of the same recipe to try. It didn't seem like a real cookbook that way. It was interesting to read though. Steve Sando clearly has a passion for his products!

I recently decided to start using dry beans rather than the canned variety. This cookbook (and Rancho Gordo beans) have helped my new-found interest. The recipes are easy to understand and totally doable.

Excellnt recipes with great bean cooking techniques. Mreally nice variety of dishes with clear instructions
