Protective, and super useful, but with minor annoyance design issues.
First and foremost: yes, I recommend this case. It's built well, and for the most part well engineered. The good stuff:-This is 2 parts: the shell case and the body sleeve. The body sleeve provides minimal cover and only protects the bottom of the camera, and the shell attaches around the sleeve via snaps. *(Minor flaw here, see below) Most of the protection comes from that shell, but the shell comes off to shoot. The body sleeve stays on 24/7.-The body sleeve has opening that allow full motion of the screen, full access to the ports on the side, and has a snapped-open flap for access to the battery and SD card.- The sleeve is attached by a pass-through screw into the tripod mount. *(Minor flaw here, see below)- The shell is essentially a leather hard-case. There is some internal molded plastic to give rigidity and shape. This works really well as protection. I'm comfortable leaving the camera attached to my backpack at all times- meaning the body is always at my fingertips, while still being cased.- The shell works over any small lens that I know of. I have a 45mm f1.8, 25mm f1.8 (w/ lens hood attached!) , and 14-42mm EZ. All fit fine inside the shell. The 40-150 does NOT fit, nor would I expect it to. Mid size and large size PRO lenses will have swapped with a smaller lens.- The shell comes off in as much time as it takes to turn the camera on.The flaws:There's really only 2 things, neither of which are deal breakers.- The attachment pass-through screw. The screw needs a screwdriver or coin to torque it down onto the body. You obvs don't want to torque it hard enough to damage the screw or body, but if it's not cranked down enough, it will seize to whatever attachment you attach to the pass-through. See the photos above- I use a carabiner screw-on ring, and I have to make sure I have my leatherman tool handy if I need to swap it to the tripod mount, or vice versa.- The shell is rigid, and the snaps are all male on the body, female on the shell. When I take it off to shoot, I have to find someplace to put the shell. Because the snaps are all female, I can't snap it to itself around my strap. If one of these snaps were reverse to female/male- I could simply snap it around my body strap and have it handy. As it stands now, I have to have a bag or something to put it in- something the case is meant to eliminate for me. If it had a belt clip or something similar, I would at least have something I could do with it.These in no way affect usability... just convenience.4 stars. If a newer version comes out, fixing those, it becomes 5 stars.

way better product than all others!!
This product is a value for the money. the case is good leather with all the snaps to hold camera solid in place. The snaps allow you the battery and chip as well to charging port. If I had another camera the same would buy a second one.Ron T

Didn't Fit
Unfortunately as pretty as it is, it didn't fit my camera. It *tried* to fit, but the bottom piece had to be forced to get the screw to align (which could damage the tripod mount over time) and the top wouldn't snap onto it without extreme force, this resulted in it pushing down on the buttons /dials which worried me as it could also damage their usability after a while. I also found the snaps connecting the top/front cover to the bottom piece felt like they were going to rip through the leather when trying to undo it. I ended up returning, it was beautiful and maybe I simply got a bad one, but I can't recommend.

It's not really for the Mark III
So here's the thing. Overall, the case is OK. I'd probably even recommend it. Here's my issue though. The product description says this case is made specifically for the OM-D Mark III. It's not, it's made for the Mark II, and when Olympus introduced the Mark III the only thing I can assume is the manufacture of this case looked at them and said "Ok, good enough!"So here's what I found didn't work. First, on the Mark III, they increased the size of the dials on the top of the camera from the MII, and they also added a... for lack of a better way to describe it, a 'thumb rest' on the back of the camera for your right hand. Those two changes make the case very difficult to close, and it puts a lot of pressure on the dials on the top, which really concerns me.Second, the 14-42mm lens that comes with the MIII is different than the lens that comes with the MII. It's much more compact. However, the front part of this case that's meant to go over the lens is too big - as in it fits the MII lens very well. How do I know? Let's just say I accidentally ordered the wrong camera and haven't gotten the MII back in the mail yet so I pulled it out and sure enough, this case fits the MII and it's bigger lens better than it fits the MIII.So yeah, they changed the name in the description but apparently didn't change the product, and for that deceit they get 1 star.

I love this retro looking cover.
This MegaGear camera cover is great! I love the retro look and the protection it provides. It is very classy looking so I am able to carry my camera anywhere and everywhere without it standing out like a sore thumb. The part that covers the lens and lcd screen detaches from the part that covers the bottom and front of the camera so you still have protection while using the camera. It attaches very securely by screwing into the tripod mount on the bottom of the camera and has a tripod mount on the cover's bottom so that you can still attach a tripod. I am so happy I purchased this. I would definitely recommend.

Well made and good protection
When I hiked taking with my new camera, the surface of the camera was scratched somehow, I am not sure when it happens but I guess the camera may touch the rock or something hard. That’s why I buy the camera case. It’s Well made and nice look. It protects the camera’s surface, buttons and screens very well, I love it.

Fits perfectly
This case fits my camera perfectly and I haven't had to take the base off at all since I've put it on thanks to the handy door flap to get to the battery and card. I have actually been clumsy enough to drop my camera from waist height with this case on it, resulting in zero damage to the camera. Good purchase.

Case is a little tight at first but it loosens
The case fits my Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark III - but just. It fits very tightly. It is therefore a little difficult to close the snap that shuts the case. It would have been nice to have it a little bit more play. Apart from that it looks as though it will protect the camera nicely.**********I have now been using the case for a couple of weeks and find that it is much easier to close. I have increased the number of stars to 4 from my initial rating. You need to be careful that it doesn't interfere with the shot.

I love it
This one was perfectly fitted to my Olympus camera. I bought it with black. Should’ve bought the brown one. But it’s okay, my camera looks sexy On it.
