I now buy these types of bags as gift bags because they cost about the same but last much longer than the paper gift bags. This one was so pretty and my mom loved it with her gifts inside. She's been using this bag over and over for traveling around.

I bought this as a gift bag for birthday presents, and it is perfect for that purpose. It would not be sturdy as a tote, but lovely as a gift bag.
