Works as a water flavor with a caffeine kick as well. Good for camping. No need to pack both water and bottles of soda, never sure how many of each you need. Tastes like flat soda. If your hiking and carrying a bottle of soda to sip your drinking flat soda anyway, so you can have the dew taste anywhere. At home use machine, out anywhere use as water flavor. Bonus.

Hello, my name is Mike, and I'm a Diet Mountain Dew addict. For the longest time I've had to schlep DMD cans from the grocery store multiple times a week. We live downtown, and typically walk to our grocery store -- carrying 12 packs of Dew is not easy. So I am so pleased that SodaStream finally came out with DMD. I'm not sure what took so long, since Pepsi owns SodaStream, and Dew is a Pepsi family flavor. Flavor is spot on. You are never going to make carbonated water with SodaStream that's 100% like what you get in a can, so the end product is not going to be 100% perfect. But I'd say it's >95% perfect. As a value for the money, It's a bit of a wash. I calculated out that including the SodaStream gas and the DMD drink mix, it works out to something like $4.50 for a 12 pack worth of DMD. That's better than the $6-7 regular price for a 12 pack of cans at the grocery store at the regular price, but higher than the 3 for $12 deals that are available at least once a month. But the convenience is so worth it. One last negative comment ... the most recent time I got this off Amazon (I have a monthly subscribe-and-save -- I did say I was addicted to DMD), the label on the box said Diet Mountain Dew, but inside was Diet Ginger Ale! I had to do a chat with an Amazon agent to get a refund, and now have a flavor I don't know what to do with. Not an Amazon issue at all -- some strange manufacturing issue at SodaStream. I've let them know.

Great product, I wish it was lesser price. Good packaging, fast shipment

I made a 900ml batch of it with my drinkmate carbonator and the color is lighter, the flavor is abyssmal. The flavor could be partially due to excessive carbonation, but the color indicates the mix values are not accurate. The instructions indicate 18ml per 360 ml (360/18 = 20 units, 1 unit would be the mix and the rest water) serving which is 1ml mix to 19ml carbonated water. The drinkmate bottle goes to 850ml, which comes out to 44.75 ml of mix which would make a grand total of ~900ml serving. I used a syringe to get 45ml of mix from the bottle. I will have to experiment with carbonation levels and how much mix to add to figure out if this is worth buying. 2-liter bottles are so much easier to deal with, just chill, pour and drink. And you get the same quality time after time. Hopefully with some practice and experimenting I can use these to make consistent and enjoyable diet mountain dew and save some shelf space. Update: Made my second batch. Really limited the CO2 to only a partial pump rather than my typical double full pump. That definitely allowed the mix flavor to shine more. I made a 360ml serving and used the base 18ml and it came out sweeter but not enough CO2. I added a bit more CO2 and it is kind of close to the 2-liter flavor after it has had a few minutes to breath. I bumped the overall rating to 4 stars. I also put the information into my drinkmate cost calculator and it actually looks pretty good. With the cost of CO2 it comes out to $0.25 per 12 ounce serving at MSRP. Better than the cost of buying it in 2-liter bottles even.

This has a nice flavor and is an excellent alternative to soda. Of all of the flavors, this is my favorite. I keep it in at all times for a refreshing drink without the chemicals or calories of real soda.

This item has saved us so much. My husband loves it and compared to purchasing one at the store 2-3 times a day, it is a lifesaver.

This flavor is soooo close to Mountain Dew. Love it!
