They were quick, easy, and relatively painless to install. The hood now properly stays open. They hood can be closed easy enough, although it does seem slightly harder than when the vehicle was new. This isn’t exactly bad though, it is still easy enough to close, and a bit more pressure to start with will allow more to leak over time and still not have the hood flop down.Changing these was trivially easy. There are many YouTube videos. The hardest part is holding up the hood while changing these. I used a couple of wood 2x4 boards. You pop off the retaining clips with a small flat blade screwdriver and pull the old lift struts offs off. The new struts can very easily be popped right on with a gentle push. The spring-loaded retaining clips deform enough when pressing on to pop on. Many of the online videos show partially releasing the retaining clips when putting on the new struts. I did not have to do that and had no difficulty at all. It was far easier than partially taking off the clips, and the possibility the clips fly somewhere.I have another older Acura (2004 TL) that also has bad hood lift struts and I will definitely use this brand for that vehicle as well. This appears to be an extremely common problem with older Acura vehicles.Really, about the only thing negative I can say is that the marking labels for these makes it obvious they aren’t OEM replacements. That isn’t a big deal for me, especially for an 18-year-old vehicle. More subtle labels would have been nice, but I will still leave 5 stars.

Cheap, super simple to install, and now I don't have to support the hood with my head! Installation requires a screwdriver or pry tool to loosen the clips on the old struts, and no tools to install the new ones.

Struts were easy to put in and I am an older woman. Don’t be afraid to buy them and put them in.

Perfect fit. Easy to install. Only needed small blade screw driver to pry loose the spring clips on old struts. New struts snapped right on with no need for tools. Dealer wanted $220.

Ever since I bought my Acura new in 2003 the hood won't stay up in the winter. These are stronger than the originals and they are working fine this winter. I'll by this brand for the rear hatch next.

had trouble with the loosening of the clips. Need a better tool or way to open clips. Used on hood of Acrua MDX.

When I went to change out on hood I thought was broken from how stiff it was and wouldn’t go down….. just man handle it and it went down. Once that figured out it was very easy to change out and glad it’s so stiff cause should last longer without hood falling on me.
