Ico and the Sacred Cave Paperback – January 1, 2015

Anyone who has a pre-adolescent in the family should consider giving them this book! The story is delightful and skillfully told. Adults who read the book as well will enjoy the wealth of detail about the pre-Columbian Taino culture of the Carribean.

I read Ico and the Sacred Cave and like the reviewer above, I appreciated the research of pre-Columbian Taino culture. Cathy has skillfully interwoven that knowledge into a seamless fictional story of a young man of the time. I thoroughly enjoyed the coming of age story of Ico on his island in the Carribean. Great YA reading for any child especially if they might be going on a cruise to learn the history of the islands they will be visiting.
