I really like this. It is great for "treasure hunting". It will cut through tree roots if needed. Convenient to carry as well

Deceptive about size...I thought it was larger, comparable to other similar shovels.

Although functional, this combo survival tool lacks one thing necessary to make it a 4 or 5 star item: Efficient storage.I've seen similar all-in-one tools which provide for all components to be stored in the handle. This tool requires all the pieces to be stored in a flimsy cloth container, which likely wouldn't survive a week-long backpacking expedition.On the positive side, when assembled most of the tools can do the intended job. I say "most", because the saw blade is too short and poorly made to saw anything more than a little-finger-sized branch, and it snapped (the blade, not the branch) while I tried to cut a dried branch a quarter-sized diameter. But good news...the serrated edge on the shovel blade works so much better.I added this combo tool to my emergency kit rucksack in the back of my car, though I also kept my Army-issue Entrenching Tool, which is much sturdier, along side the new addition.BOTTOM LINE: It's not the best of its kind combo tool, but for the price, it's probably worth having in your vehicle emergency kit.

This is the essence of a tactical / survival shovel. You want this with you on every camping trip. I believe this shovel is indestructible under long-term, heavy use. It would probably survive being run over by anything except a freight-train. The handle casings are more comfortable, which allows extended work time with less effort than my bare metal handle tact-shovels. The carry case is a bit thicker than others and a bit better designed to separate the parts inside from clinking and marring each other. If I was allowed only one shovel, this would be it.

An emergency shovel has been on my to-get list for a long time so when this one popped up I ordered it. This shovel is exactly what I needed. Its compact, easy to construct and sturdy enough to stand up to snow, hard packed dirt and sand. We keep ours in our trunk for winter storm emergency and emergencies in general.

I keep this survival shovel in my car just in case an emergency. It's a really great survival tool. It's a nice compact size but it's easy to put together. The shovel is very easy to use. It has a few different cool features. Made with heavy duty material this is one strong shovel.

It is really sturdy when you put it together but it is by no means a really quick process and can be a little tedious feeling to assemble and breakdown between uses. It becomes a wager of space and organizational needs. That aside though, it works pretty decently and I could see it being taken on a hike if you want or need to spare the weight in the your pack.
