I purchased this filing cabinet to be placed next to an antique desk so I was looking for quality and form as well as function. The cabinet fits both of my needs very well. I wish that the filing cabinet drawer pulled out about half an inch further so that I could get files in and out easily. It is a bit of a struggle as I use it to store files that I am in need of several times daily. The first time I ordered this cabinet it arrived with the top glued on askew and it was impossible to open the top drawer. I repackaged the item and sent it back. The next cabinet arrived in perfect condition. Without the shipping damage issue (I read the reviews and this seems to be a consistent problem despite the item being well packaged) I would have given this product a 5 star rating.

I question whether this is a manufacturer "second." I ordered both this file cabinet and the 60" desk. Nearly every piece of wood in both products has about a 1" black mark that looks like one that would have been made by a black Sharpie - and they're all on the outside of the furniture, not the inside. There's not just one mark on each item; there are multiple marks. The file cabinet was over $250 less than buying it from my Ashley store down the street, but if these are truly not the same as what you get in the store, I think the description needs to say that. For the difference in price and because it's in the office in the basement where really no one else but me will see it, we've decided to live with it. If you are a perfectionist and it will drive you crazy, you might want to consider paying more and buy directly from a local store and let them deal with getting you a perfect item.I'll update this review once I load my files in it and use it a bit.

This is a very attractive piece of furniture. My problem has been that the top drawer won't shut completely unless you shove it so hard everything flies to the back. My Husband has tried numerous times to fix it but since it is entirely enclosed it is hard to see what you are doing. After he works on it and it closes correctly l can shut it about three or four times before it's right back to the same issue.I thought it would be an easy fix so didn't report or return it. By the time I mentioned the problem to my Husband it was too late to do anything about it. My bad.

Was so pleased to find this treasure on Amazon! It comes assembled & is nicely finished, beautiful compliment to other pieces in our study area. Arrived promptly & was packed carefully to insure no damage occurred during shipping. Quite sturdy, file drawer ready for hanging files. Great value!!!

Happy that this arrived already assembled. I am still working out how I will fit hanging folders in it - there were no rails in mine. The drawers are a little stiff. But overall I like the size and appearance.

Product came securely packaged and fully assembled. Absolutely no damage or scratches of any kind, solid construction and easy glide drawers. The file folder frame fits legal or letter size and loads from the side. Top drawer measure 12 W x 15 D, has lots of room for printer paper, additona files or any other office supplies. I would definitely recommend purchase and would buy it again.
