New External USB 2.0 Slim CD/DVD RW Drive Writer for All Laptop, PC, MAC

Tried it with two computers, one an Acer E 11 notebook the other a tower system, both computers running Win 8. Total failure on both. I've tried with video DVDS and audio DVDs and unit fails to recognise them properly, all show up as single audio files and even the real audio DVD fails to play. Have tried with Windows Media Player and VLC.Company was very helpful and a replacement supplied very quickly with no fuss. The replacement is working perfectly

Mild warning. I bought two of these. The first one was excellent and worked perfectly. Unfortunately I'm a clumsy idiot and broke it. I used 'order again' on Amazon to replace it and an entirely different model (different third party seller) turned up. The second one was clunky and looked cheaply made. It also didn't work. Windows & OSX both recognised it. It would burn discs on OSX but they didn't play. Windows would just spit the discs out and kept telling me there was a problem with the hardware.So 5 stars for the first one (which came with a mini-usb connector). 0 stars for the second one which had a USB-B connector (the square ones).

Very good product the best delivery time i have ever had from any Amazon order ,Looks good works well But with Windows 7 & 8 it auto loads without any prompt & no confirmation its found new device & installed it ,That maybe because in my case the Asus laptop i was using has the very same make /model dvd drive as part of the laptop that also means if its standard dvd drive Asus put in there laptops quality should not be an issue .

It's works fine plays DVDs perfect the reason for 4 stars it take time to load a DVD same with copying as well if wasn't for that I would of given 5 star

Feels cheap and it is but it works well enough. As some reviewers have said, at this price you can afford to replace it when it goes wrong.

Very mixed performance. It will only work when plugged into the back of the pc's usb slots (and not a usb hub). Read performance is average but write performance is very slow at 2x. For the cheap price I can't have too many complaints but it can be very fussy sometimes when it comes to reading different cds and dvds (it classed my backup pc data dvd as a cd and refused to open it)

Works perfectly for only seven quid, and two-day delivery for free! At that price I could replace it four times a year, every year for three years, and it would still be cheaper than the ridiculously expensive burner it's replacing, that broke after only a couple of years. With technology this fragile, it makes more sense to have throwaway gadgets at throwaway prices, than pay through the nose for something that's going to break anyway.
