Best value
Being totally fed up with Apple iTunes, I took a risk and tried one of these out. For the money, these are pretty impressive. Form factor is very nice. It is a tiny clipable device, but with fully scrolling menu functionality. No proprietary sync cable... any micro-USB will work. No lengthy iTunes update every time you turn your PC on. Simply plug in and drag your music files over into the Music Folder on the player. The initial start is not as responsive as the Apple, but once gets going, it is runs smoothly. Volume (set on High) is kicking.NOTE: It is a good idea to check the Sandisk Support site for the latest firmware update. I had to update mine. This resolves a lot of the file management issues that people are complaining about on the reviews.NOTE regarding Refurbished: Refurbished player has a big stamp burned in on the bottom stating 'Refurbished'. Not a big deal. The item functioned just fine, but did require a firmware update. It shipped with some other crappy headphones, as opposed to the ones shown. I contacted DealFisher and they sorted me out by sending me what what promised. Minor nuisance, but it is all resolved now.

best mini player out there!!
I love it!! This thing totally rocks! I wanted a small player to play some audiobooks to listen to while I work and music . What a perfect fit! you can put in a memory card to expand the storage to carry a ton of music, audiobooks etc! Adding files is simply drag and drop. Scrolling the menus is a breeze and what else... oh yeah, its soo small!! and so light!! That might be a negative since its so small , its so easy to lose !!Only negatives I found are when you put it in your pocket, if you bend over you press the buttons! I tried front and back pocket, same thing. I tried clipping to my belt but was worried it might fall off ( I do lots of manual labor when I work). I bought one of those small cases on Amazon that supposed to protect it but even in that, I'd still press the buttons! so my final solution was to buy a cheap small plastic box, cut a hole where the earphones go, rubber band it shut and then carry in my pocket! Works like a charm!!

The FM reception isn't as good as my now defunct Sony Digital FM Walkman but ...
Wish I could give this a 5 star rating. Hard to believe you can get an 8 GB device that provides this much audio options for under $50. The FM reception isn't as good as my now defunct Sony Digital FM Walkman but I wanted to receive Podcasts just in case I already heard the NPR program or so I could miss at least some of the NPR Pledge Breaks and this is good enough. Also the On/Off button isn't the easiest to operation but I am getting better at it. The volume control requires finger use and so I turn it up louder than I would prefer for walking in when I want to keep gloves on which is most of the year in New England. I loved my Sony Digital FM Walkman so much I am seriously considering replaced it and use this device for listening to Podcasts and Audio Books in my car via the USB port. I purchased this unit since it has the belt clip and it works very well. Thanks SanDisk for the beautiful technology improvement.

Great value MP3 player
Great little product; good quality sound for price and size. Easy to operate, good battery life. Reconditioned or new and all work just fine. This is my third - such a good value and I won't want to kill myself if I drop it or it dies; used mostly for workouts. Does just what I need it to do! I did purchase a small rubber case for <$5 USD simply because I am hard on these little things.

Refurbished unit arrived broken. New ones MIGHT not be garbage.
I bought a refurbished Clip Sport. It arrived in a non-usable state. The "center" button, which i assume is how you make selections, appeared to be cross-wired with the "volume up" button. Could not open menus, make selections, play music, or do just about anything. No instructions were included. SanDisk's web support was minimal, and apparently their support line is closed on weekends.I don't know if they are all this poorly made, or I am just particularly unlucky. Considering that I've got a useless lump of plastic in my hands, I've got no choice but to give it one star and return the thing. It could just be that it was refurbished BADLY, but since I can't get ahold of customer support, I doubt I'll ever know.

I used to love this Mp3 player, but it went downhill.
I have owned three of the Sandisk players. The first one wore out on the outlet from moving around too much doing ceramics and painting in class. The second fell in the water! My fault. Egh!The third one's quality went down hill. It does NOT play in order like my previous ones, and pausing or skipping delays over a second. For example, track #11 or 10 would play right after #1. If you're listening to some business interviews or anything that needs to be in chronological order, it will not make any sense so you will have to name anything after track 9 as "9a" "9b" "9c" to play in order or just make a new folder with tracks from 1-9.However, what I like about it is very self explanatory. Buttons are easy to see and press. The clip makes this little thing very portable and to move around. Light weight too.I hope they fix that problem since I loved my previous Sandisks, or else I will need to look for other options.

This looked like it fit the bill
I have an iPOD, but as the software progressed, I lost control of being able to listen to my MP3 music ripped from my CD's. I also have various language MP3s that I wished to listen to, while I walked, using a small, lightweight device. This looked like it fit the bill. After I received it, I placed a 32 GB micro SD with all of my music in the slot, and loaded the 8 GB internal memory with language files, and now cannot live without this device. I love it. So much so that I bought two more, giving one as a gift, and placing the other with my BOSE bluetooth speaker, because the SanDisk's built in radio picks up more stations than any of my other radios. The player also works for quite a while without a charge, and charges in 20 minutes, using any of my phone chargers. I like how the screen goes off after a small period of time, to conserve power, and reawakens with a simple push of the center button. A press and hold the second time, turns the unit off, making it easy to blindly turn the device off in your pocket.
