I took a long time to wean my daughter. And honestly I didn't know how. This tea was a life saver. After 3 packs I had little to no milk. I pumped less, dropped down a fed. And drank it 3 times daily. For full effectiveness I would recommend 4 packs.

This stuff really works! I didn't breast feed so I was expecting a lot of pain and tenderness when my milk came in. This is my 3rd baby and i knew what to expect. I bought 2 boxes of this tea in anticipation.. I only used 1 box. It definitely helped. I didn't have to make a bra out of cabbage leaves this time aroind. I barely had any pain at all. This may or may not have something to do with my baby being in the NICU and being unable to hold her. I heard that holding a baby and hearing them cry produces milk. It wasn't the best tea I've ever had.. but it wasn't the worst. I added a bit of raw honey to sweeten it. It smells pretty good. It had a nice aroma of sage and peppermint.

For a medical reason, I had to top nursing my son cold turkey after almost exclusive breastfeeding for 10 months. I used this tea in conjunction with other milk reducing tricks, so I can't say for sure, but it was largely painless overall, even despite the sudden stop (except maybe the first 48 hours which were uncomfortable, but actually I didn't have this tea yet then). I drank this a few times a day as a hot herbal tea- it is pretty typical of a peppermint herbal blend and I found the flavor unremarkable, but I drink a lot of herbal teas. Within about 2 weeks I was milk free, so I can only think this helped. It certainly didn't hurt and was a tasty tea that was better than ingesting Sudafed (another common method of drying up - but way less safe!)

I bought this to help with my oversupply problems— I’m 5 weeks postpartum and have struggled with oversupply, which has been hard on my body (I got mastitis twice and I’m constantly engorged and uncomfortable) and hard in my infant to deal with the high pressure and quantity of milk. I brewed this tea strong (let steep for 30 Min) and the kept it refrigerated in a pitcher. I drank 6-8 ounces 1-3 times a day— I started slowly and increased as needed. Within 4 days my supply had significantly decreased to a comfortable level so I stopped the tea but will keep it on hand if needed. The flavor is fruity like hibiscus which is in it. The only con is that you have to open the tea bags carefully or you will rip the bag and get particles in your tea— I didn’t really mind this though.

I pumped for both children and was blessed with an oversupply. When the occasion came that I needed to dry up, it was a long process trying to space out pumps, take Sudafed, try to avoid clogs, etc. This tea did better than everything else combined. I did drink 2-3 per day to begin with and then as my supply diminished was able to back it off to 1-2/day. It works quickly and efficiently. I am not really a tea drinker and was afraid it would be nasty but the minty tones were actually quite nice! (Note that my 3 yr old did not like it. Finally, something I didn't have to share!!!!! Almost want to keep drinking it just for that!!!) But seriously. It works well. I haven't used it to prevent milk from coming in but can imagine that it would help significantly alongside other anti-galactogoges such as Sudafed.
