We cook often with rice, but usually tend to go with jasmine. However, basmati is a great substitute for the dishes we usually make (cuban rice, jambalaya,curry). It has a nuttier flavor than jasmine, but very tasty. It holds its shape and texture well (as long as you don't overcook). The price is about average for this size bag. Hope this helps.

Delicious rice, but I dislike the internal bag…It’s woven plastic and shredding. Visible plastic particles were mixed in even after carefully pouring it into a different container. With all the news I see about microplastics in our food supply, I don’t feel that it’s prudent to consume products packaged this way. The visible ones are easy to remove, but they shouldn’t be there in the first place.

This rice tastes great, looks nice, and has a perfect texture. I wish it was cheaper because I’d love to eat this all the time. I cannot attest for its glycemic index because I currently don’t measure my glucose levels. But when I get pregnant again I have a higher chance to have gestational diabetes again so I know I’ll try it then since I couldn’t eat any rice even brown. Anyway, my one complaint it that the bag it comes in kind of crumbles and gets inside the rice. So I had to remove a lot of tiny pieces from inside the rice to be able to cook it. But other than that, the rice is excellent.

This rice comes well presented. It has a zip-up bag with a double sewn shut handle, and an inner bag that is also sewn shut. This bag makes everything easy to store. I love basmati rice, it is a little sweeter than regular rice and longer in grain. It cooks up well and can be eaten plain or in a dish. We had ours in a curry and it was fantastic. The only part I didn't like was the initial opening of the product, with three layers of sewing, it took me a while to get this open.

The parboiled basmati rice comes in a nice, cloth sack for storage (which is itself enclosed in a plastic bag for shipping and further storage). It was fresh and cooked up so well! It's got a very specific taste for rice, which is hard to explain. It's Basmati! Takes a bit longer to cook than regular boiled rice but comes off soft and fluffy, almost creamy. Taste great, smells great and is a great addition to any meal or served on it's own with a bit of butter and salt. Mmm!

The Pardesi Parboiled Basmati Rice is excellent quality, and comes in a bulk, 10-pound bag. The rice cooks up perfectly in our rice cooker – flavorful and aromatic. We love basmati rice with curries, but this rice is very versatile and can be used in any rice dish. Overall, outstanding quality and taste, and has a low glycemic index, if that is a consideration.
