Grammar problems can be a teaching point
I completely agree with the previous reveiwer that this book has grammar problems and switches back and forth between verb tenses. That said, it's an adorable story about sharing and nice for a study of the Tropical Forest biome and/or Hawai'i. As a teacher, you can also use it for a lesson on keeping your verb tenses consistent throughout a piece of writing! With upper elementary children or middle schoolers, read it aloud twice. Read it the first time so they can hear the story as a whole. Then on the second go-around, ask them to write down each verb they hear. At the end, ask them what they notice!

Very cute story & colorful illustrations
Was a baby shower gift that had mangos as the theme. I used the book as my card on her gift. Fit perfectly with my gifts as well

Love this book
Love this book. It's a sweet little Hawaiian story about sharing. A friend gave it to us, and we have purchased additional copies as gifts for others.I'm a writer professionally, and some of the grammar bothers me. They change verb tense. But the story line and illustrations are wonderful. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 only because I'm nit-picky about grammar (especially when it comes to teaching children).

It's fun. It's got a good story time read aloud flow. I like the illustrations. The whole sharing and thank you thing is great (though it's also good to just give things without getting anything in return). And bonus, if you need a book to add multicultural diversity to your program, this one does so in a charming way. Win, win, win.
