We've had this up for a couple months now and love it. It provides plenty of shade and looks great. The only thing is that the measurements aren't totally accurate. Chances are, it'll sag if you use the measurements listed. I ended up mounting it one corner at a time while making sure I could get enough tension to make the sail tight. You'll want to make sure you have the extra distance needed to account for the tightness and mounting hardware. Minus one star for that, but otherwise it's great.

I added this to the back of the house in an area that has nothing to block the sun except when the sun is setting on the front of the house. This thing makes a huge difference and provides shade from the sun in Florida where it is needed. It is over a seating area. My neighbor came over and saw the amount of shade it provides and is going to purchase one too. I’m on the fence about it allowing rain to penetrate it. Yes, it’s nice if you have plants under it, but I kind of want something that will keep the rain out so I can keep items on the patio that can get damp but not soaked. I’m considering an actual awning in a few years, but for now this is great at providing shade in Florida during summer!

This product was purchased to provide some shade after a rotting trellis was removed from our patio. The $25 lightning price was very doable even if it was just an experiment. The shape is odd but is needed for strength, I guess. But, the main thing is that it does the shade job just fine. It is not water resistant although it tends to direct water to it lowest sagging point. I don't care about that. I would build a roof if I wanted no water on the patio. I use stainless steel pad eyes for the four corners and tie wraps so I can cinch down for the right tension. I worried about durability against the constant breeze, but it's held up fine for nearly a year now of mostly sunny Hawaiian days. It was a very economical experiment that turned into a very economical solution for us. I've been waiting for it to rip at a seam, but nothing doing yet. Very happy after a year.

Works fine. Don't know about 90% light rejection.
