Good as Goldie: A Breaking Cat News Adventure

"Good as Goldie" is the eighth book in the Breaking Cat News comic world and it's better than ever. What has it got? Well, I'm glad you asked. The Girl's First Birthday Party celebration complete with cat commentary on who's wearing what, the cat's take on the musical "Hamilton" for their 4th of July party, A "choose your own broadcast" adventure, another thrilling episode of the feline soap opera "Our IX Lives" (will Kit Chase manage to keep That Guy Brad from moving in on rich cat Angora whose father Snowball Taggart is [supposedly] at death's door in the hospital?), a PSA on whisker fatigue (it's a real thing), and of course, stray cat Goldie (whose awful People moved away and left her - BOO, HISS) joins the BCN crew at the Big Pink House. A

This was even more delightful than I thought it would be. I loved reading Goldie's story all in one place. While the main story is about Goldie, there are also stories about the CN reporters learning more about the raccoons; the robber mice heist of a pie, and about The Girl going from first steps to running in a single day among other tales/tails. The extras at the back are always a lot of fun. There are so many good stories to report from the big pink house, its inhabitants, and its visitors and Georgia Dunn tells them very well. I love the artwork of these comics. It is so much more than simple line drawings; they are little watercolor paintings. The extra full page panels were great additions to this book.

I’ve been following the Breaking Cat News comics daily strip for several years. They are humorous but also heartfelt. You come to think of all the characters/animals & people endearingly. I look forward to each book that is published. This one is about how Goldie finds a home & comes to live with the BCN cat reporters. I highly recommend if you love really good stories with great artwork.

"GOOD AS GOLDIE" introduces a new character to the Breaking Cat News crew. Georgia Dunn has presented another great story with new illustrations of the town and country. I look forward to her next book.

I read the CN News series aloud to my daughter as our cat variously cuddles and plays next to us. All of the stories are relatable and funny. We enjoy the personalities of each character. We love following their antics across the series, looking forward to each new publication!

Every Breaking Cat News series is totally delightful. And informative too. Georgia Dunn captures the personalities of her characters -- and Goldie has quite a sadly common backstory. BCN is the best!
