Worth the money for sure.
I love mini maglites and got a new job where i needed a smaller easy to carry flashlight and decided to get the newer minimag pro led. However ive been spoiled by modern flashlights that have tail switches or other switches that allow for one had operation. AND i like the spot to flood focus of the maglites. What to do. Surely i thought someone has made an after market tailcap with a swtich in it. They have and this is is. And its pretty fairly priced too.The black matches my light perfectly, looks just like it came with the light. The lanyard hole nub is something i could do without even if it meant not having a lanyard hole at all. It doesnt allow for the light to be used in candle mode like the original part, but thats a less important feature to me than the tail switch feature so i will live with it. It there is an update to this product, i reccomend omitting the nub, there are other ways of getting a lanyard on this light. The switch allows for momentary activation so brief flashes and signalling is an easy one had operation unlike the original configuration of the mini maglite. With standard aa alkaline batteries, this switch works flawlessly. While i will use those if i have to and carry them as a back up, i prefer NIMH batteries so i can recharge them. There is some slight diferences between some NIMH batteries in regards to specific dimensions of the batteries compared to regular alkaline batteries, and it seems this swtich is a little finicky for some reason with NIMH batteries.I found this out when i took the head of the mini maglite off to test out the brightness of candle mode. It worked well. However when i put the head back on and had some intermittent failure ro turn on or stay on. I was able to restore function just by loosening and retightening both ends. Kinda. I still had some intermittent problems. When i got it back home, i troubleshot and experiemented until i found a set of NIMH that seems to play well with swtich and light. I even tested the original endcap of the light with all my batteries standard and otherwise and wasnt able to replicate the failure at all so its the switch for sure in combination with the NIMH. The switch works flawlessly with alkalines. Enregizer rechargables seem to work the best with this switch. The switch cover seems to be pretty durable and it feels good to click though it has a little play to it.However i would warn you to be gentle and only remove the swtich as absolutely necessary to swap batteries. The threads on the original cap feel absolutley perfect and smoot when removing or replacing. The swtich... kinnndaaa gritty and its a little cludgy to actually get them to mate up because the spring contact is a little taller and stiffer than on the original cap.So be deliberate and gentle when removing or replacing it.Overall its a great buy and it works well, just a few things you have to know.Update after having this for a bit,It continues to serve well and even though im still using NIMH batteries with it, i havent been noticing any more of the intermittent failure like i was at first.YMMV, but this its a decent addition to a mini maglite. Makes using my mini a one handed task and it seems reliable and high quality.I honestly use a small keychain light that is excellent as my primary light, you can see it in my reviews i wont be so rude as to name it here, it suffices for most of my lighting needs, but the mini maglite while less bright and less versatile than that light, throws a beam farther than my primary so it still gets some use. As i typically use a light while holding multiple other objects in the other hand, this switch makes that classic light into a new tool that gets the job done, well worth the price in my opinion.

Great product-good value.
Well made & works perfectly-fits the Mini Maglite barrel end like a glove. The switch can be partially pressed On for temporary lighting or fully pressed On & Off for traditional usage.Great product-good value for the price.

Excellent upgrade for an excellent light.
Worked great. Totally transforms the Maglite into a multi role flashlight for edc or other uses such as quick momentary illumination of a subject or target for positive identification. Highly recommended for Maglite upgrade mod. A+++

Good feature add for the maglite, but with some flaws.
I bought this because the twist switch on my maglite would always get turned in my pocket, turning on the flashlight and running down the batteries. The Good:- Keeps my batteries from getting run down.- Easy to click with one hand.- Works with the high/low power modes of the pro+ model. When using only the button, the maglite will turn on to high or low power mode according to the direction is pointed, just like it does without the button. The Bad:- Lanyard/roll stop tab prevents the maglite from being used in candlestick mode. I wish they left that tab off and just made it smooth. If I ever get around to it one day I'd like to just grind that thing off.- Over time I have found the switch doesn't always catch reliably so I sometimes find myself having to click it on and off 5-7 times before I can get the switch to stay on.Overall I'd say for the current price ($10) it was a good buy for me, and keeping my batteries from running down has been worth the tradeoff of the other issues.

Neat little butt switch for MagLites
This little butt switch for mini MagLites is a great add-on. I've installed it on all the old 90s-era AA minis we have floating around the house—which is quite a few—and I'm perfectly happy with them. You can get momentary light by just partially depressing the switch, or you can lock the switch on by fully pressing. I do have one light where I've had to do a little bit of a screwing-unscrewing dance from time to time to keep it working, but I'm more inclined to put that down to oxidization of contacts inside the light itself than necessarily call it the butt switch's fault. In general, I'd gladly use these over the more traditional twist method of controlling the mini MagLite, especially the older ones where the contact control isn't very precise. It's much, much nicer to set the focus the way you want it and then use the butt switch.Amazon's asking me to rate the number of stars for "Brightness" and I'm not sure how to answer that question. How bright is the switch? Not at all. The light, though, does pretty well if you upgrade the lamp while you're upgrading the switch!
