AXIS® Piano Black 10 Watch Storage Case Display Box WITH KEY

I had been looking for a watch box for months and done a lot of research; reading reviews, looking at photos online etc. and I finally settled on this one from Axis. Although it costs more than I initially intended to spend and doesn't hold as many watches as I would have liked it is still a great item and I'm extremely pleased with it after receiving it earlier today.The finish is excellent, both in side and out and the chrome ironmongery seems to be of good quality too. The packaging was very good, it comes in a blue padded box which is inside a cardboard box and that is inside another cardboard box so it's very well protected during transit.I only have two small issues with it which would otherwise make me give this a 5 star rating. 1- The pillows inside are very firm which makes it hard to wrap SOME watches around them if your have smaller wrists (I'm about 6.5-6.75 inches). I've only noticed this on watches with a leather strap that have a deployment clasp and if you loosen the strap to compensate this it makes the watch sit too high causing the crystal to contact the underside of the lid. 2- Only a very small issue, but it would be nice to have some sort of catch/locking mechanism on the hinges so that there is no risk of the lid slamming shut accidentally.All in all I'm very happy upon first impressions and I'm looking forward to filling it with more watches!

Overall quality of the product is great for the value. Packaging however was very poor and there was a visible dent on the lid due the packaging. Just 1 cm styrofoam around glossy product surface is not enough to protect reasonably heavy product. However the dent was small enough that i dont want to waste my time to return the item.

The 10 watch box actually have the same dimensions (take of give a millimeter) as the 8 watch box - the difference is in the space for each watch. As these slots are slightly narrower you may find that your bigger watches feel crowded. Luckily I have both so I primarily use this for the field- and dress watches. The build quality is good and the soft lining protects your watches. I've never liked the see-through top boxes and the finish of these Axis boxes looks nice if you leave them out on a dresser. The only issue that I encountered was that the lock doesn't work - the locking lever doesn't enter the lid when turning the key but that doesn't bother me as i don't use that function anyway (should a thiei enter, he'll take the whole box and won't bother with a key!!). This box is great but I recommend the Axis 8 watch box for those of you that have a collection of watches 43/44mm and bigger.

Had to return it due to damage around the lock, other than that it was beyond gorgeous.I'm contradicting myself, I know, but honestly the workmanship was just lovely, the quality of material second to known and it was jet black highly polished. The hinges, open and close mechanism was smooth, and hinges highly polished. Little protective feet on the bottom.The lock was not aligned so never worked, it seemed someone had tried to repair it but done a poor job. So the one delivered had scratches around the lock, lock still never worked and where an attempt had been made I assume to fix it, damage to the black finishing had also occurred. This box should never have been delivered because once the black surround is damaged you can't buff that kind of repair effectively enough so that I don't feel the repair, I might not see it, but it's within the feel which is just as important.A great pity ... had ordered two versions, the other being the walnut Matt finish and that one was perfect, so I went with that.

The case is great but the cushions inside were old and soiled (some were a yellow colour)

Great quality. Watches look great inside. Finish is of a really high standard. Will fit some slightly larger watches if you arrange them carefully. I have a couple of 50/51mm watches that just about fit. It's perfect for slightly smaller watches of 45 mm and below. There is enough clearance for deep watches as well - anything upto 20 mm should have no problem fitting.The badge on the inside of the cover is stuck on with what can only be described as double sided sticky tape and looks a bit naf. It was easy to remove and the box actually looks better without it (sorry Axis).The lock seems to be more for show than actual security. It's not an issue as I don't intend to leave the box anywhere else other than on the shelf anyway.The colours in the pictures are an accurate representation of the item.I can't fault the product.

Stylish but lock broken so sent back.

I thought long and hard about which box to get, and I'm glad I chose this one. Very good quality, and comes in its own fantastic cushioned box! The only drawback is that it's so shiny, it will show the fingerprints....it's well worth the money. Recommended.
