Kenra Professional Nitro Memory Creme 18-8oz

I have been looking for a product that gave me just enough lift to my fine, red color treated but thick pixie short hair. I have tried several different Kenra’s mousses and root booster and got dull, dried out hair. So I ran into a You Tube video on keeping your pixie cut hydrated after coloring. She just had her hair bleached at her salon and the coloring processes dried out her hair. I have had the same issue in the past! She brought this product out to use as a root pump instead of her normal root pump and added other products that helped me with keeping my hair hydrated. But most of all I was surprised by this poorly reviewed product. Out of all the highly reviewed Kenra products I have tried, this has given me enough lift without drying out my hair. The scent is not overwhelming like the fragrance Kenra has been adding to its products that to me smell like a case of bad B/O! Anyway I shake it hard, spray a small amount of cream out. It doesn’t take much at all. There is some liquid that comes out of the nozzle but I think that could what got left in the nozzle from last time I used it. But I had the same issue with most of Kenra’s mousses. I just added it with my small dollop of the cream to wet hair. I use a couple of multi-benefit heat protectors before applying the cream to my hair and dry on my lowest heat setting with my hair dryer. It works so well in my hair! Fine and thick hair is hard to find products to help with volume, hydration and style. This product doesn’t leave my hair feeling heavy like a lot of products do. It seems like the hair care industry caters to fine and thin hair but not fine and thick. I hope Kenra keeps manufacturing this product despite the bad reviews. It works, leaves my hair lifted but soft. I can even get away from using a dry wax (Enjoy) or manipulator (light green Bed Head Matte) to my hair to style my pixie with a piece-y look or a messy look. I am left with a beautiful soft lifted pixie hairstyle. If you have issues using this product then you are probably using too much. It looks like a mousse but it is a cream. It also has not had negative effects on my red color-treated hair. Only positive! Finally a product that works! Edit 11/2025 Having issues with the nozzle? Run the nozzle under warm or hot water where the product dispenses. You may have to use a washcloth every once in a while to really clean it. Once you remove it from the water shake the can to remove excess water that may get into the holes in the nozzle. My last suggestion was not a great one so I have taken it off to give you this better method. The other method broke my nozzle off and I have a repair I hope last. But that was my fault and I apologize to anyone who tried my previous cleaning suggestion from October. The above way I have described will work and you will not have a broken nozzle like I do. Luckily my husband and I are scientists and we were able to repair my nozzle but It is harder to use because of my own stupidity! I hope this works for those with nozzle problems! This is a really great product to try and I really hope it remains on the market!

I only got this because the mousse I really love "IGF" is too expensive. This is waaaaay too sticky and makes your hair flat and just awful.. I tried to use it the first day and had to rewash my hair. I used less then and it was OK. Tried again today and didn't use much and once again I am heading back to the sink to rewash. I won't be using this again.

I like this mousse. It is long lasting and keeps my curls in check. Plus, if you want a product that works for those who do not wash their hair everyday, this is a good one because it does reactivate nicely with some water. A little goes a long way and it smells good. My problem is that twice I’ve gotten cans that won’t dispense. Push the nozzle and nothing happens. Also, I dropped a can and the whole nozzle broke off! Both times these issues rendered the product unusable. I’ll give it one more try and if I have issues again, I will move on to another product.

I would give the product itself 5 stars, as it’s the best I’ve ever used. It helps with styling my pixie cut, not stiff or greasy. The scent is fantastic, subtle, not overpowering. I love Kenra products. However, the dispenser is horrible. It’s hard to get the product out of the can, and the cap broke, now it’s nearly impossible to. I just contacted Kenra to see if they can come up with a better solution for a dispenser. Otherwise, love the product!

It really works of keeping my hair in the style I used for at least 3 dsys. Love it!
