Dark Matter*

An intresting sci-fi thriller.
Stop reasoning, open your eyes, and start reading. We all know that certain things are beyond our imagination, but then there are people who can think even beyond, and more surprisingly is that they can even write a story based on their imagination while building and putting life in to their characters, thus making the readers to believe the unbelievable and imagine the unimaginable. " Dark Matter " by "Black Crouch" is one such sci-fi.While reading the book you start loving the characters Jason Dessen, his beautiful wife Danielle, and their son Charlie both as individuals and as well as one unit of an ideal family.Amanda, the other character in the story too touches your heart.Multiverse concept along with the idea that a person with the same identity I.e. in his entirity in the present world also exists in the same manner in the other worlds and which forms the strong basis for the story. We find Jason Dessen(Jason-1) an extraordinary talented physicist, capable of any coveted prize, preffering to choose a simple and ordinary life rather than to that of a life of name and riches when circumstances demand between the two.Elsewhere in an other world,we find Jason-2,who sacrifices everything in his life to become a successful physcist which earns him name fame & riches, but strangely inspite of all this,he starts feeling an emptiness and starts regretting the choice he made some15years back I.e during the course of his scientific struggle.Through his knowledge and invention he develops a box through which he finds about Jason-1 who is similar to him in all respects and who is living a Happy life with his beautiful wife and son in this world, while working as a lecturer in a college. Jason-2 wishes to trade his life with that of Jason-1. He abducts Jason-1 and replaces himself and starts living the life of Jason-1 with Danielle & Charlie Meanwhile whosoever enters the box,the brainchild of Jason-2,becomes the versions of Jason-1 and all starts desiring to live the life of that of Jason-1.With twists and turns,Jason-1plays a trick and gets himself arrested while Jason-2 was out at the college, so that Jason-1 stands the chance of meeting his family. As planned and expected by Jason-1, Daniella visits the police station to bail him out. Jason-1 will be able to convince his wife and son and, luckily , escape from all the other versions of Jason's whosoever entered the box besidesJason-2 which definitely is believably unbelievable Overall, the book is an interesting sci-fi to read .The unbreakable family bond between Jason-1, Danielle, and Charlie, whether in this world or in any other world that they choose to live, is a real takeaway of the book which leaves an impact of an ideal Family bond with that of the reader.Further the quote of Mark Twain on pg 101 is intresting to read and goes well with the reading. An interesting sci-fi thriller.

A sci-fi not for everyone
It is a very gripping and a mindbending novel. It is quite well written and at no point will the reader feel disinterest. If you are a science student and loved physics you would enjoy this book a lot. Approaching towards the end the book becomes a bit chaotic ,but that is where the fun is.The character Jason is well written and well presented and the narration not even once feels diverted from reaching the climax.Overall, there are still quite a lot of questions left unanswered in the book!Amanda? The Jason 2 world?.Enjoy the read!

A racy thriller, but not what you might expect!
The short version -It's a good science fiction story, coupled with a touch of love and delves on topics such as how our envy can destroy us.The vagueness of the back cover adds even more effect to the alluring mystery of the book. Read it by all means, if you wanna experience a certain spark within you. The characters are amazing and the story just explodes right from the sixth page. This book is an adventure like no other. The long Version-I picked up this book without any expectations. I read Blake Crouch's 'Pines', and that book blew my mind. I just picked this relying solely on the name of the author and I was not disappointed. The story is very good, I finished the book in one sitting. It doesn't waste any time introducing the characters. It just jumps straight into the action. The story picks up the pace right from the 6th page. It's a good science fiction story, with all the nerdy science things(obviously). I'm not gonna delve into too much details, this book is an experience like no other. The fact that this book is in first person perspective adds to the effect of immersiveness . We feel what the character feels, we are put in his shoes and we experience what he experiences. The story is lot more complicated than what's given at the back. It has much more depth. The book also hits us with different philosophical questions; the smallness of our existence, how we are nothing but tiny momentary specks in an indefinite universe. Apart from all the science fiction and action, this book is a beautiful love story. How a single choice created an infinite possibilities, the fact that a man's love for his wife transcends the known dimensions. This book poses the historical question of all ages, Can humans live without love?, well, this books say we cannot. If we can, the consequences will be dire. The story doesn't drag too much, it just flows smoothly, the ending may seem a bit off to some, but don't let that stop you from picking this book. In conclusion, this book provides a wonderful homage to love, science fiction and envy. Read this book if you wanna be thrilled and be left asking questions about your own existence.

Dark Matter: A Cliché-Ridden Romance Masquerading as Sci-Fi
I was expecting more of a hard core science fiction, given the name being "Dark Matter". The majority of the book focuses on the protagonist's multiverse twin romancing his own wife, with two love-making scenes thrown in before a half-decent explanation of the sci-fi aspects. If this is what passes for peak sci-fi, then the time-traveling janitor from "Still 17" deserves a Pulitzer Prize.Product wise: decent font size and page quality.

10 stars out of 5. Go for it.
Simply unputdownable Sci-Fi, undeniably exhilarating and so much engrossing that we are bound to finish it in one day so that we encounter the nail biting climax. A SF thriller, based on Quantum concepts like schrodinger’s cat, Multiverse/parallel universe, superposition states etc. Author Blake Crouch is a rockstar.

Excellent! Thrilling, read one page - you have to read the rest!
I found myself lost in whichever alternate-universe Jason found himself in and wanted more. The pace of the book rattles along like an out of control train, once I got on there was no stopping until the excellent finale. One of the best science fiction books I’ve read, the science is as tricky as Shroediger’s Cat but hugely entertaining! Can’t recommend it enough!

Really good
I was scrolling down the book section, a bit absent minded and found this one. I bought it barely knowing what to expect as I don't read many thrillers, yet, I was pleasantly surprised. To make it short, the story is nice, with a good amount of small - and some big - plot twists, accompanied with good beliavable characters and the writing is simple and fluid, overall giving a really good reading experience where each word grabs you and gently pushes you to the next one.
