Trixie Spare Post, 9 × 70 cm

Very sturdy and fits well into my existing base. I chose a replacement a little wider than the last, which is a bit heavier and more stable. So far my cat is a bit reluctant as she is wary of anything new but I'm sure she'll soon get used to it. Better than all those frayed bits on the old one which she kept eating! Cats never do what you want them to do, as we well know!!

TL;DR: the 11cm diameter posts have wider screws than the 9cm diameter posts. The screws are approximately 9mm wide on the 11cm posts and 6mm wide on the 9cm posts. ----------------------------------------------------------- - Sizing of post fittings - I originally bought a 11cm 70cm tall post, to rejuvenate an old scratching post cheaply. Later on, I needed to replace a post in my cat tree. I took the post from the scratching post to test it was the right screw fitting for the cat tree. It fitted so I went ahead an ordered a new post. I ordered a 30cm tall, 9cm diameter post for the cat tree. As all the other posts were 9cm wide. When it arrived it did not fit. I wondered if the different width posts had different screw fittings, since the previous one was wider. So I ordered another 30cm tall post, but this time 11cm wide. When it arrived, this one fit! It seems the narrower posts have screw fittings that are about 5 - 6mm wide, and the fatter 11cm posts have ones which are 8 - 9mm wide. I have tried to measure them which is slightly tricky and attached photos below. So when you are ordering, you need to order based on the size of screw you need. Not the width of the post. It may not be as aesthetically pleasing, but at least the post will fit into your tree. Each post comes with two bolts with torx heads and one double ended screw. The smaller post also comes with two washers, the larger poles do not. - Quality of posts - The are cardboard tubes covered in sisal, with plastic end caps and metal screw threads in the middle of those end caps. I have noticed that the wider posts use thinner sisal and the narrow posts use much thicker sisal. The sisal is attached with staples at each end. They have all be smooth so far, with no sharp of sticky out staples. The posts could do with more rope. The large post that I first bought, after a fortnight of being used a gap appeared in the rope coils. 6 months on, the gap is now over an inch wide. It isn't as frayed as the old post, but the old post took years to show a gap that big. I have attached photos of how it is today. I would say they are okay for what I paid, but I am now bowled over with them. They do the job they are supposed to do for a reasonable price.

Arrive quickly and well packaged. We had another as a replacement post and this was just in a clear plastic bag. I love now we can get a new post only instead of needing to replace the whole scratching post with base. The post has a thread both ends allowing us to turn it over when the cats have destroyed one area of the post. Rather than just replace it. Very sturdy post and the rope is tight together the last post lasted well over a year. We have two outdoor cats both under 4.5kgs who use it all the time. Only scratching post in house. It did come with a screw but just used an Allen key (not supplied) to change the old to the new. Took me under 1 minute. Recommended and we will buy again ☺️ for our furr babies.

Perfect, I needed to replace a post, the base was still in good condition. I wasn't sure if the new post would fit but it's perfect. It would be good to have the choice of a finished top if you need the post only

Perfect for my cat, her tree scratch posts looked like they had been electrocuted and her greeting like many cats is to go to her tree stretch and scratch. Without a post she was threatening to have a go on the sofa so we needed a replacement. Enter this product. Was sceptical at first but I'm lazy and couldn't be bothered to restring her post. The post arrived with two helpful universal fittings which meant I could easily fit the post into the existing set up without much faff. The little screws they provide are double ended so if your post previously had a screw end, you can add this with the fitting. It's a lot wider than the previous post was, but still fit in the tree. The cats chuffed and the sofa is safe, winning all round.

I bought replacement 30cm and 40cm (11cm diameter) posts for my cat tree. The posts are very sturdy when screwed together. Unfortunately they have different screw sizes to my other cat tree parts so aren't interchangeable, and sone of the screws don't fit through the holes on my other cat tree parts. I've been able to use them but they have to be screwed into eachother rather than other manufacturer's parts, which made the cat tree difficult to assemble.

Excellent value for these posts which I have bought many in the past and have come back again and again. My late cat loved scratching and stretching on the posts which were sturdy and durable. My cat used to try and catch a ribbon which I would wrap around it so it was mentally stimulating as well as good for his physical health so good fun for him. The design was good so he was a happy healthy cat.

En uno de los postes me faltaba un tornillo, pero bueno he utilizado los que tenía de sobra. Los postes son muy buenos, cumplen perfectamente su función, son duros robustos y han quedado perfectos. Mi rascador estaba la parte de abajo ya en las últimas...pero el resto del rascador estaba muy bien y no lo iba a tirar ...Tengo 3 enanos que le van a dar mucha caña....

Ha funcionado genial para sustituir la pieza de mi árbol Yaheetech que está cedida de tanta sacudida de mis bebés. Se ve muy estable y encaja perfectamente, lo volveré a comprar cuando me falle otro.
