I ordered the black and rose gold kettle as I'm changing all of my appliances to this colour, as of yet it hasn't disappointed, there are two types in this kettle matt or shiny but there isn't an option to choose which one but I'm glad mine arrived shiny.It does exactly as described and boils quick, there is a temperature gauge on the front of the kettle which is surrounded by rose gold, the neat ring pull type lid (which i remove to fill) and on switch are also rose gold. The kettle is sat on a black and silver base which matches the rest of the kettle.Overall in my opinion it's a great little kettle from TOWER.There is a year guarantee included but if you register the kettle with tower you get an added 2 years.I would recommend purchasing as it won't disappoint.

I wanted a temperature control kettle but after many years of using ones with digital screens which would die after a few months of use, I went for this one instead with an old-school dial. It's perfect, you can see the water via the viewing window in the side and you can check the temperature you want on the front. Another review mentioned a metallic taste to the water, which worried me as I'm sensitive to things like that, but I can't say I've noticed it.

So I needed a new kettle as the old swan one was falling apart and despite only ever using a water filter to fill it up the spout filter was rotting away. I bought this as it looked different and I liked the idea of the gauge on the side as I’m so sad I have nothing better to do!!I unboxed the kettle and ooh'd and ahh’d at how pretty it was before rinsing out and plugging In to try it out. I filled up the kettle and turned it on all excited only to hear nothing. Darn I got a dud one I thought as I rechecked it was plugged in etc. i then noticed the temperature gauge slowly rising and realised that it is pretty much silent until almost boiling when you start to hear it and goes quiet again just before reaching boiling point.If you want a hood looking very quiet kettle then this will surprise you at how quiet it it. Plus you can see at a glance how hot the water is inside so may not need to reboil if you have posh tea

Overall retro design is lovely. Dusty white natty finish and feel was great! But was ruined with plastic parts coated in cheap rose gold finish. Very flimsy switch. I'd feel like it could break at any moment. Why not use something sturdier? Especially for the price - wasn't cheap! But feels cheap. Returned unused for a full refund

Product looks fantastic in our kitchen, but had a weird taste once we started using it. We put that weird taste down to it being a new kettle and needing time to 'burn in' but it never truly went over the 3 months that we had it.Very recently, just under 3 months after we ordered it, the boil would reach 75% before switching off, requiring us to flick the kettle on multiple times before it would actually hit 100% boil. This has prompted us to get a replacement, which we hope will not share the same issues that this kettle has.Another peeve with this product is the handle placement. It's at the top, which looks great aesthetically but is quite strenuous on the pourer's wrist & forearm when holding >750ml. If the black handle was moved/extended further down the back then it'd be much easier to use.

Very durable kettle, alittle noisy but fast boil

I think I was lucky enough to get this model - I didn't want a kettle as loud as those cheap plastic ones. And obviously it can't be quiet enough. But it seems well balanced (if one can say it) - it's loud enough to hear the water is boiled in another room but it's not deafening when you are in the same room.I guess it all comes down to how sensitive your hearing is.
