Medicare For Dummies
S**K
Essential Reading for Anyone Eligible for Medicare
This is an excellent resource for those new to Medicare. I started with this book, then attended a Medicare 101 seminar conducted by the State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP). What I learned from the book made the seminar clear and easy to understand. I feel confident in the decisions I need to make in a couple of months, being informed by sources not trying to sell me something. I will continue to use this book as a resource as I join and navigate the Medicare system.

Great information in an easy to read format; Good examples; Advice on gathering further info.
I like this book. It provides an excellent writeup on what to expect when it's time to take the Medicare plunge. The information is organized well and is in a format that makes it easy to understand, with example scenarios. I also found it explained the different products available and where to get more information when you are ready to look for your own situation.I give this book a high recommendation as it has helped me prepare for signing upper Medicare in 2025.

comprehensive and readable
Very informative and written in a breezy style that makes it easier to read than something filled with just technical jargon. Take your time reading this, it's not a novel, but your medical future may depend on making wise choices for your situation and this book gives you all the information you need to do so.

Comprehensive, Well Orgamized
The book is very comprehensive and well organized. There is a lot of information, but the author breaks it down to be understandable. My only suggestions are: 1) more real world examples 2) better explanations of charts (Figure 11-2 on Medicare Advantage drug costs isn't clear on what the person's cost would be (cost over whole year, premium cost, those added together....? more so since prior 11-1 Figure shows $0 for premiums)

Medicar Explained!
This book is 390 pages. I think it covers everything you need to know. Keep it handy and prevent costly mistakes when signing up for Medicare.

Informative, boring and necessary!
Book is informative, but a lot of useless information is mixed in with the rest. To bad a cliff notes edition was available. Does make for great reading before sleepy time. Knocked me out quickly. Woke up with book under my pillow and terrible night mare.
